Managing Underworld expenses

Post by Oni »

I have played my underworld team 12 times and now at 200 TV. Player skills listed below

Thrower - Block, extra arms, accurate, +1 strength
Thrower - Guard

Storm Vermin - Dodge, MB, tackle, claw
Storm Vermin - Dodge, MB, tackle, +1 agility

Line Rat - Block, strip ball
Line Rat - Block +1 agility, niggled

Goblins

#1 - DP, side step
#2 - Side step
#3 - Two-heads
#4 - +1 Agility
#5 - #8 - No skills

Troll - Claw, tentacles, +1 strength

5 Rerolls
9 Fan Factor
Apothecary
Bank - 460,000

Was very fortunate to lose 1 goblin due to injury and no one else. Won or tied 11 of the 12 so winnings have been good for me. I use the 5 rerolls and I play aggressive with the team both in trying to make plays and knock down players for casualties. The league I am in has several bash teams with a couple of players willing to use the stall and destroy tactic.

Any suggestions on lowering the team value? Want to keep 14-15 players on the roster and like for each player to have a skill if possible but know my expenses are going to start adding up quick now.

Well if you don't want to cut re rolls, then cutting players is about all that you're left with. Next time a thrower skills up you could take leader and drop a RR. The only goblin that I see and consider to be "bloat" is the one with DP and side step - those skills don't have great synergy IMO, and that's a (relatively) decent chunk of TV that will hit the bench if/when he gets ejected.

Other than that, just let nature take its course. Since you're in a bash league and carrying several niggles, I'm sure it will happen soon enough. :)

So you got a good record, a big team with developed players and 460k in the treasury and you want advice? :orc:

Agreed, you managed to turn a fragile glass cannon blood bowl team from 1000 to 2000 in only twelve games. You should be telling us how to do that!

Cut and rebuy the following -

Thrower - Guard
Line Rat - Block +1 agility, niggled
Goblin - DP, side step
1 Reroll

With so many doubles and ST/AG boosts, you have to make some hard choices or just accept the high TV.

We had a bunch of new players come into the league and decided to play underworld. half the wins were against coaches that will improve and the other half I had good luck in. Replaced only 1 goblin in the 12 games. Played the team aggressively and they make for a fun team.

Heff...Keeping the Dwarf (and lego) hate alive
If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I do love tentacules on a strength6 player!
what's a puty he has claw & not standfirm...

ps: i just realized Oni managed to get 3 players level star, 1 player level emerging star, 3 players level veteran, in only 12 games... => at least (51 x 3) + (31 x 1) + (16 x 3) + (6 x 4) = 256xp collected in 12 games !
more than 21xp per games with Underworld

I did :( though did spend time teaching the newer players how to play. I also wanted to play a team that was one of the lower tier team.
