Necromantic vs Undead inducements
Hullo!
I've got about 230k of inducements to spend for my necromantic team against an Undead team.
I can drop a Cheerleader, an Assistant Coach and/or a zombie if need be.
My Necromantic:
FG: Block, Guard
FG: Block
WW: rookie
WW: Block, +MA, Tackle
Wight: Guard, Mighty Blow
Wight: Guard
Ghoul: Block, Guard
Ghoul: Block, Tackle
7x Zombie (Block/Dirty Player/-MA, Dirty Player, Block/Kick, 2x Block (1xMNG), 2x rookie)
3xRR
1xAC
1xCL
Opponents's Undead:
Mummy: Guard, Grab
Mummy: Guard, Block, Grab
Wight: Mighty Blow, Piling On, Tackle, Frenzy, Juggernaut, -AV
Wight: Mighty Blow, Tackle, Dodge, Guard, Piling On
Ghoul: Wrestle, Strip Ball, Tackle, Diving Tackle
Ghoul: Guard, +ST, Block, Tackle
Ghoul: +AG, +MA, Block, Sure Hands, +AG
4x Zombies (Block/Kick, Wrestle/Fend, Wrestle, rookie)
Skeleton: Dirty Player
3xRR
So the options I'm thinking of so far are:
Wizard+babe: 200k (drop AC+CL for extra babe/card or switch babe for bribe)
Hack n Slash+bribe: 220k
Wilhelm Chaney: 240k (drop AC or CL)
Not a good option:
Setekh: 220
What do you think I should do inducments-wise?
Perhaps add some general strategy. So far I've only come up with: FOUL TEH POMBERS!!! (with or without Hack).

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
You have...15 players?
I'd drop 2 which will put you at a TV difference of 310 - then wiz, bribe, babe. Or alternately add a RR, drop a AC and take a wiz and a bribe.
I think you do want a bribe to handle both the PO Wights and the well developed ghouls.
Remember to set up Frenzy traps for the -av Wight.
Try to stay away from the mummies.

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
Yeah 15 players. I'd think having more players in a league environment would be better than inducements. This way I can foul and survive some bashing before getting into trouble numbers-wise.
For the league I try to do some regular fouling (Dirtiest player award!) but I find that in games where the other team/coach is stronger I hardly get to do any fouling. Let alone solidly supported fouling. I expect this game might give me similar difficulties on that part.

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
I generally ran my league Necro team with 13 players. The Zs are fairly resilient so if you need more then 5 of them you are probably in a lot of trouble anyway...
I do think 15 players is overkill, even if you like to foul - after all if you are smart about fouling it is helping you win the attrition war (presuming you aren't getting nuffled of course).

mmm ok, I'll fire two of those zeds then.
The Block/DP has -MA. Who's more useful, her or a rookie zombie?

I'm a bit late, but I agree with Swilhelm.swilhelm73 wrote:You have...15 players?

I'm wary of taking Wilhelm, another frenzy, against a team that can be so dangerous on the sidelines (all that Grab+frenzy Juggernaut... I feel that guy loves to shove opponents off the pitch).
Chainsaws are a sort of placebo. Impressive, but not so much effective (in my experience)
Setekh... I like him (break tackle+S4), but I'm the only one apparently

Wizard is always a solid choice, and your bench is... Well, a lot!

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
MMm good point. Escecially so considering I surf a lot (as the subject of the surfing that is!).
I forgot to mention that one Zombie (Block) is MNG so perhaps I should only fire one. I don't want to though. One has 5spps and the other is raised from a team I expect to meet next season, which I very much would like to foul the rest of that team do death with yet he doesn't have any SPPs...

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
Hmm, not having a DP will hurt, but with only MA 3 and with a cost of 80k I'd probably keep a rookie instead and focus on getting DP with the next Z to level up.Baduk wrote:mmm ok, I'll fire two of those zeds then.

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
Setekh doesn't make much sense to me. He's got Sure Hands on his team and nothing requiring Juggernaut so that seems like wasted skills.
While I like to scare with Hack, I have too many players to protect already and the Chainsaw is usually a hot target to take down. Perhaps having two DP is enough to prevent/punish some Piling On/Wrestling.
Edit:
One more thing on firing a zombie (or two). When kicking who goes on the LoS? Right now I've got 6 available zombies, one is a kicker so that leaves 5. If I fire one I've only got one reserve for the LoS and seeing the amount of MB/PO that's hardly a luxury, right?
Oh and there's some Wrestle on the team so Juggernauts does serve a purpose. Mmmmmmm

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
I've decided!
Bought a RR (definately going to need it with a rookie WW).
Fired a rookie zombie
Inducements: Wizard and babe.

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
Because I always want to know how games turned out when people ask advice, here's what happened:
I lost 1-0. I'm not sure I'm happy with the choice of having fired a zombie because at one point I could only field 10 players, but that's not the reason I lost. Some early casualties on a few of my key players made me struggle for most of the game and I wasn't able to really hurt or out position the undead.
Wizard was fine, stunned the ghoul with the ball. I don't recall actually needing the babe because I hardly had any KO's.

Re: Necromantic vs Undead inducements
nope, not even once. My Dirty Players were either too busy or out of the game. Same goes for the other zombies/players. I think I had a chance of an unassisted foul on a pomber at one point but there was something more important to do for that player if I recall correctly.

Rarely does one overcome 200k difference, especially against a mini-maxed team like undead... unless timmy-teaming, i.e., dwelves....
