DE team vs CD team

Post by skeelo82 »

I have a big game tonight against a CD team. My DE team is 3-1 with a team rating of 128 vs a CD team that is 4-0 and a team rating of about 135. My team consists of 1 We, 2 Blitzers, 1 thrower, 7lineman, 3 rerolls, apoth and 6 ff. His team has 2 BC's, 6 CD's, 6 Hobs, 2 team rerolls, 7 ff and apoth.
I have read the other post about how to win with the CD's and slowing down the pace. Being the elf player, I figure that if I can jump out to a fast start and force him to play a faster game it will help. But if he is able to run a successful cage and slow down the game are there any tips on how to defend against it?

You big problem is going to be coping with the BCs. If they don't have Break Tackle man mark them. If they do you have to screen the ball carrier. Do this and a normal offence should work well.

The only way to force the pace on a cage is to either stop it forming in the first place or take it head on. If you haven't got kick its really hard to do the former, and you probably don't fancy your chances head on.

However you only need 1 error to exploit and then you should be able to win.

Quick correction there - best to take a cage rear on, not head no....
