OK I confess, I was part of the pub quiz team that aced the quiz, getting a mighty 19 out of 20....

And cos I was driving I didn't get my pint, so next tourny I'll be at the bar waiting for you lot to make it up to me.

Oooh, you belonged to the cheaters.
We figured it out with Thadrin.
1- You cheated
2- You need to get a life.

Thadrin thought 2 was more scary.

We (I believe Grumbledook, Longfang, Niels, Norse and I) got a healthy 14 out of 21. Which made us the best of the worst.

If we didn't have Norse, we would have been worse of the worst.

lol Thadrin was CHIEF nerd - he was writing the answers down and hardly needed our help!

And the cheaters you describe where the french contingent next to us. In the sneakiest move ever, they took our answer sheet and started to copy the answers onto theirs before we realised and snatched it back!

Cheats Cheats!

We (team name - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and the Hippy) got 16ish and thats with the distraction of 1 of the competitors eating his girlfriends face off next to us (it was like something out of Zombi Flesh Eaters).

Spanish team just looked with stupid face trying to understand what was happening, then noticed was impossible to understand english through micro, and finally started drinking and talking about other nonsenses so we are sure we didn't cheat

I would like to point out that in fact the chief nerd were the Boy Lard and whoever it was knew the answer to the bonus question about "Metal gear solid". I knew the one about Alexander the great (go listen to Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" album.)
I would have got the scooby doo question wrong, I don't know the name of Gandalf's sword, and I wasn't the one who knew IMMEDIATELY what result 66 on the Handicap table was...(Boy Lard again).

Anyway, i fully admit being a complete nerd. I retain pieces of useless information and this was one of the few chances I've had to make something out of that (last time was being the only one in a Guildford pub who knew that Falkirk play at Brockville park.).

We got stiffed by our Northern Monkeyhanger members insisting that BB was released in 87 rather than 86...
Luckily though the ECBBL boys bottled out of our suggested bet, as they did us by a point.

Have to admit, it was Geggster and I who were the key nerds in that one. Paul got all the BB questions and I got all the pop culture questions. Ian trumped the blanks.

and dammit I KNEW the rookie was called Raiden, I thought they must have meant MGS1, not 2
