Well I heard a rumor at the Chaos Cup that the classic undead will be disbanded, so it looks like I'm going to have to find another team.
I wrote up a starting necromantic team with:
2 Golems
1 Werewolf
2 Wights
2 Ghouls
4 Zombies
2 Rerolls
6 Fan Factor
Has anyone you has used Necromantic had any luck with this?
If not what would you recommend?

Should this be a tournament team or league team?
If league, any comments on opponent's races/TR?

I won some impressive titles in 198X, some more in 199X, even more impressive titles in 200X, some of them REALLY impressive, and a few even MORE impressive! Not to mention a lot of less impressive ones.

Here's how I started mine, and I'm pretty content:
8 Zombies
2 Flesh Golems
1 Wight
5 RR
9 FF
It doesn't matter what TR your team ends up at, you'll want those five rerolls. If you're playing other high FF teams, you'll be picking up a Ghoul/Wight each game for your first few games.
Forget trying to put a Werewolf on your starting roster. They're too expensive and too likely to soak up your rerolls with their Frenzy blocks. You'll need your early rerolls for ball carrying.

Are you refering to the version from the annual? Flesh golems 120k...
On Galak's site they are 110k.
Major difference between those two versions (aside from the were stats ) are the number of wights you may have. Annual lists 4, the other 2....
If you can have more than two, you might want to lower your ff for an upgrade to another wight (either a zombie or ghoul, what ever you feel comfortable with) which helps you blocking. Alternatively, take a 12th player since being outnumbered with this team is no fun...
Has anyone made league experience with them yet? How do especially the flesh golems perform? I can imagine it's quite a shift of playing style, compared to the classic undead bringing sleepless nightmare to JJ...

ok, i have a nerco team in the fumbbl league, and i think im 4-1. no one will play me anymore as i have dauntless on both my werewolves...
anyway, i think started w/:
2 werewolves
2 wights
1 flesh golem
6 zombies
3 rrs
7 ff
the golem is nice to stick on the line w/ his st4 and stand firm, and i added the second one as soon as i could. however, i think they both are currently at 2 spps. they advance like black orcs, although they are a bit more useful on defense. i've added the other 2 wights as well, and managed to raise 2 zombies. i like using a running offense, using the wights to pick up the ball, and let the werewolves destroy the opposition w/ their frenzy/rsc. i detest using ghouls, they always get hurt first, and seem to always die. really, i just use the necro team like i do the old undead team, and it works out fine. for comparison, i start them like:
2 mummys
4 wights
5 zombies
3 rrs
6ff
people say the werewolf is too good, and i could be persuaded to agree. however, w/out regen and no apoth, their reign will be short lived. taking them on a starting team could be a real liability, although they are your best players. its a chance im willing to take.
