First game with my Chaos Dwarfs...

Post by MechD »

Greetings all,

First off, I would like to thank all you guys that gave me advice about how to start my Chaos Dwarf team off...Second, I am happy to report that my Chaos Dwarfs have posted a 1-0 victory over a team of poncy High Elves tonight!

The highlights of the match on my side...
1st Star: The Hobgoblin who grabbed a ball that a nice little elf dropped after an encounter with a Bull Centaur, which resulted in the games only score.

2nd Star: The psychotic Hobgoblin who smashed the jaw of an Elf Dragon Warrior...I think he will be a bit wiser when he comes back from that injury..

3rd Star: The Chaos Dwarf Blocker who badly mangled a Elf Linemen for trying to block him..silly elves just don't learn..

The Dog House Award... The other Bull Centaur, who spent 4 turns of the game completely unable to pick up the god damn football, even when re-rolls were used TWICE! :pissed:

Over all results for my team...

My Team rating went up to 109, and I have 10K in my treasury..
I got a natural six on the roll for fan factor, so that is now 9 (which DOES or DOES NOT add another 10K to my team worth? I assume yes)
I picked up my Apothecary, and a Chaos Dwarf Blocker picked up the MVP.

So I have Chaos Dwarf Blockers with 5 and 2 SPPs and Hobgoblins with 3 and 2 SPPs..Now I just have to get the damn BC's involved more...

Looking forward to my next match.. :smoking:

Good job. High elves deserve a beating for their stuck-ups!

And yes, additional FF counts towards your rating.

You didn't get 40 SPPs, so i'm guessing you got more than 10k in the treasury. Is that 10k after you bought an apothecary (the math seems about right). I know you gambled about not needing one for game 1, and I'm glad to see it worked out for ya.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the replies, it feels good to have a first league game under my belt, now I just need to get the team fully assembled and painted up nicely.. :)

You are correct Matsu, I got 60K from the game, and then purchased an apothecary. I am also glad that it worked out, I had one Hobgoblin badly injured on a block, and one Chaos Dwarf badly hurt off a foul, and both times I was holding my breath..lucky they were only badly hurt, or not having the apoth could have been ...bad..

Have a good one guys!

MechD - try it to be your hobbos to pickup the ball and give them to the bull centaurs. It's a little less dangerous, even thou it implies two players, but you have more options with the ball at the hobbo, and the bull centaur can kick some space to run and give the ball later ..

It's even easier if you take Sure Hands on a hobbo after his first skill roll.

I'll give the "counter-argument" to TiMuN.

Personally, I prefer to pick it up with the BC, and the reason is Sure Hands. I've seen a lot of BCs out there who pick up catch on a doubles, but that seems like a real waste of doubles to me. With Sure Hands, you're still getting the free reroll to get the ball (picking up instead of catching) AND you resist strip ball (by far the best way to get the ball away from a BC who's carrying it) AND it doesn't require doubles.
