Humans doing so good that i need help...

Post by VorTeX »

Hi there,

i really need some help on skill decisions for my human team. Some weeks ago i posted the "planning a human team" topic. And here is what the team looks like today:

Blitzer: Guard
Blitzer: Guard
Blitzer: +AG, +Skill (Tackle, Strip Ball, Sure Hands, Guard?)
Blitzer: +AG, +Trait (or MA, double 5) (MA, Leap, Dodge, Dauntless, Stand Firm?)
Thrower: ---
Thrower: Strong Arm, +Trait (Nerves of Steel, Catch, Dodge?)
3x Catcher: ---
2x Lineman: ---
2x Lineman: Block
Lineman: Block, Tackle
Lineman: Block, +Trait (Leader, Dauntless, Guard?)
Ogre: ---
3 ReRolls

So like you see they do very very well. The skill rolls are nearly unbelievable. I did not often had so much luck with stat increases and traits.

Like you can see, i made 4 skill rolls after the last game (1-4 lost against another human team  ) and made 3 traits (1 could be move) and a skill and i really dont know how to use this great rolls. I added my suggestions in brackets behind the players but it would be really nice if some of you could give me some ideas of what to take....

Thanks in advance...

Well. . . .

You COULD give NOS to both the thrower and the Blitzer, and then give Dump off to the thrower on the next one, and run an option Offense.

But that will definately be one of the less accepted ideas.

IMHO:

Blitzer: +AG, +Skill (Tackle, Strip Ball, Sure Hands, Guard?)
- I'd say Guard. You already have one Tackle player, Guard will protect this valuable player a little bit

Blitzer: +AG, +Trait (or MA, double 5) (MA, Leap, Dodge, Dauntless, Stand Firm?)
- Dodge protects him. And it's extremely useful.

Thrower: Strong Arm, +Trait (Nerves of Steel, Catch, Dodge?)
- Difficult one. Maybe Dodge, planning for Blodge and then some day Accurate?

Lineman: Block, +Trait (Leader, Dauntless, Guard?)
- I like Guard, but with that Ogre Leader could be really useful. I'd probably go for Leader.

One thing a ihave to add.

There are many tacklers in our league. Many teams are at 250+ TR and have at least 3 or more tacklers. But there are a lot of dodge players too.
Strip Ball is not so common. Maybe there is an average of one per team....

Maybe that helps. And i still really dont know what to take. Never had to make such a hard decision in the last years i play blood bowl.....

Just wanted to add that I agree with MickeX, FlameKnight and Nazgit. However, consider NoS on the thrower - with 2 AG4 blitzers and 3 catchers, you could have a great throwing game.

Blitzer 1 - Guard is incredibly good on 4 AG. You'll love it - really.
Blitzer 2 - Leap, and he's your own little Wardancer.
Thrower - Probably dodge, but it's a tough call.
Lineman - Dauntless all the way. If you've got any team in the league that can freeboot one of the nasty exceptional strength guys for the playoffs, you need Dauntless. If they can freeboot Luthor, you need dauntless and tackle.

Blitzer 1: I agree with the rest -Guard
Blitzer 2: Dodge
Thrower: I think i would have taken NOS but Dodge is a good choice.
Lineman: Dauntless.

Thanks for your advices so far...

but its still a tough decision.

Okay, guard on 4 AG is great. He has more mobility and can be positioned a lot better than with AG3. But that also counts for tackle. With AG 4 he will be a great receiver hunter because of his mobilitiy. And one player with tackle is by far not enough. So tackle or guard is the question.

Blitzer No.2 is even harder to decide. MA 8 and AG 4 will be great. Dodge is great, but for dodge rolls i can go for ReRolls. And in the Defense there are a lot of tacklers in the league (at least 3 per team). My thoughts are going for leap. And then take Strip Ball. That will be the only way to have a cage jumper in a human team. Dauntless or Stand Firm doesnt really fit to an AG 4 player or?

And then the thrower seems to be the hardest decision. I dont want to waste the trait and take accurate on the next skill. But i really dont know what to take here. Going for blodge will take too long to get accurate. And this thrower with already strong arm should be my "long bomber".

For the Lineman i am nearly sure to take leader. Gives me a ReRoll for free without boosting my TR. And my Ogre will gor for Block and Multiple Block so he needs that Leader ReRoll for extra moves, blitz actions and so on.

Blitzer 1 - Toughest one of the lot to pick...Guard is probably the right choice, but tackle makes him a great safety.
Blitzer 2 - Take the movement. He's your Tight end/Running back.
Thrower - NoS. I LOVE the idea of the option. Also will occasionally allow him to throw from covered squares.
Lineman - Dauntless. Without a shadow of a doubt.

After some consideration...

- Guard
- MV 8 (oh yeah! big cheesy :D )
- Dodge (you won't believe how useful this will be)
- Dauntless, possibly Guard, not Leader

Definitely take leap on the second blitzer.
Getting the ball loose in defense wins games and with AG 4 he´s a perfect cage breaker.

+AG blitzer - skill: think about Pass Block- it's great to have an interceptor in the team
+AG blitzer - trait: go for dodge, he will be a star. try to keep him safe.
thrower - trait: go for Nerves of steel. it rulez!!!!
lino(block) - trait: Dauntless or Frenzy. he already has block, so U can make him a sideline pusher  . depends on if there are lot of ST4+ players.
