TTM Question
Hi all, my first post.
Can you use a big guy with TTM to Hail Mary Pass a halfling?
I can think of some really cool 1 turn TD with that.
Till next time.

Welcome to TBB!
The LRB does not explicitely addresses the possibility of TMM in conjunction with Hail Mary Pass but I would say no because
a) in the TTM rules it is stated that you may not throw a teammate longer than Long Pass.
b) Hail mary pass skill description specifically mentions "throwing the ball" and not "a pass action".
c) Furthermore it says that you can not use it during a blizzard which implicates that a HMP is subject to circumstances which reduce the throwing range, like TTM does (by one range band)
if you take all this together you will come to the conclusion that you cannot use HMP with TTM.

Thanks all.
That would have been my only reason to play a gobbo or fling team.
So, even tho thats not the way the game seems to me, (a battle, where scoring is second to carnage caused) it would make sense to be allowed to curl up a gobbo(without the ball) and chuck him, either as a hail mary, or at an opposing player. It would be really cool if you could play gobbo catch.
Any thougts on this?

Why? Even without HMP you can pull out a 1-turn-scorer with a goblin/Halfling team and all that without any extra skills. If you do it right you not even need to make GFI with the thrown stunty. Skaven and Woodelfs need to build there 1-turn-scorer with two extra skills before being able to do that.Warlock wrote:That would have been my only reason to play a gobbo or fling team.
Stunty teams are fun to play even without your proposed moves. You drive your opponent mad by dodging all over him, he has problems knocking you down even with two dice, and when you eventually score, he is completely annoyed.

all you have to do is wait till your opponent sets up, put your BG on the line somewhere so he won't be in a tackle zone, hope you get a good kickoff and can get the ball to the goblin/halfling without passing then throw him and make a 1 turn score. i have used this with decent success on my orc team.

One turn scoring
Hi, Narcotic -
Actually, rookie Woodie and Skaven teams can score in one turn. They just get better at it as they add skills.
Cheers

Gutter Runner/WE Catcher MA = 9 +2 GFI = 11 squares.
Distance LOS-EZ = 13 squares. Have I overlooked something? How they score in the 1st round without Sprint/+1MA/Long Legs?

Allright, I didn't know about that.
But I guess you have to be very lucky that the opposing players stand right after set up for you being able to push your own player two squares to the EZ. After all I would call it a theoretic possibility for a 1st turn TD, but nothing you really can plan for.

Actually it's a quite valid tactic and not too theoretical. There are several variants on how to do it.
If i worked it out correctly (for a MA9 player), you can manage to do do it with just 5 of your players and only one opponent. You need a blitz and 2 blocks with a push result on the first 2 blocks. That leaves you with 6 other players to get the ball to the one-turner and/or add cancel assists on the blocks.
The only way to be 100% safe from this in defence is 3 standfirm guys on the line
