Any suggestions for her?
Sorry, I hate being negative but of all the races even the BBRC agree they need a fix. Right now...thats how to put her off tournies for a start. Please talk her out of it.
And re "other conversations re names", expect a PM from an admin.
Matt, thanks for the detailed analysis. I will foward the info on to her. Ghoul with Blodge is nice....she was just getting worried about the amount of Strip Ballers we tend to see at tournaments here.
Lycos....funny you say that. Last year she helped me out running a tournament while I could play instead. She was just starting playing and was using the Shadowforge Elves as Pro Elves in just some one-off games here and there. During the tournament she read thru all the teams and found the Necromantics the most interesting. We just finished a short league recently and she used her Pro Elves and did not do so well. She decided she likes the bashy teams better so I got her a painted Necro team as a gift (Thanks Roberto).
I warned her about the difficulties of a team like that and related it to when I played Chaos teams in the past. Those types of teams take awhile to build up and in a tournament that gives 1 skill per player, they just cannot stack up against teams that start with core skills already (ie block, dodge, catch, sure hands, etc). A werewolf with Block and Dodge, or Dodge and Sure Hands would be great. But it's just not possible in a tourney since you get one skill. (Idea: maybe think about a tournament allowing more than one skill per player)
In our upcoming league starting next month, she will be using them and I think she will do ok. I will once again try and persuade her from using them this weekend for the tourney however....not sure if it will work, she's tough
