Bull Centaurs have nothing to do with chaos and are not mutations. They were actually part of a magical breeding experiment created by the priests of Hashutthey kept the changes that Chaos already made on them (such as the tusk or the bull bodies)
Why don't Chaos Dwarves Mutate ?

I thought that the only "breeding experiments" the Chaos Dwarves made were to create an "optimized greenskin slave" (Black Orcs), and that Bull Centaurs were those few chosen that were born with the blessing of Hashut... But the last time I read Chaos Dwarf fluff was five years ago, so I may have forgot some things...sean newboy wrote:Bull Centaurs have nothing to do with chaos and are not mutations. Actually, i'm a biologist and i think that was a very good comparison.Sushé Wakka wrote:Think of if as evolution: Some dwarves stood unchanged while the others, who got in a new enviroment, evolved to adapt to it, thus becoming a new specie (I know biologists will bash me for doing such an afirmation, but hey, Chaos can work as a Cathalyst of change, can't it?).

Dwarves are naturally resistant to magic. Most species will be unable of stand the warping powers that Chaos brings and so they will mutate (This is how the Beastmen and Skaven were born). However, Dwarves could stood the powers of Chaos and remain almost unharmed, although some little changes were produced on them. However, Chaos Dwarves find slavery, torture, sadism, and big hats acceptable social behaviors. It is their culture what makes them stand apart from Dwarves, not their mutations (which are just enough to make them a bit different).

Yes But their culture changed at the same time they started mutating and started praying to Hashut the Father of Darkness So chaos altered not only their bodies but also their culture. They turned to worshiping Ashut when the dwarven Ancestor gods dissapeared. They turned to him when the chaos incursion almost destroyed their empire. Its a typical chaos win win strategy.

genetic drift is the "scientific" term for what you discribed sushe
Hashut, the father of darkness
As I read it the Chaos dwarfes were an isolated group of people, who by slow mutations bty chaos, became a whole different race. They can do magic now etc. They do have some physical mutations, but not much. They are born with them.
