What for a -1MV, Block skink?

Post by Darkson »

Title says it all really.

1st skill was a plain double, so I took block, but then failed the Aging :pissed: .

So now I've a 7/2/3/7 Dodge, Stunty, Block Skink with 12 SPP's (1 TD, 2 Cas, 1 MVP).

I'm loathe to retire him(the other 4 skinks with skills didn't get doubles) so how should I go about developing him? Should I follow the normal skink develpoment path (which I don't know, but it's on here), or should I go for something different?

My team is :

5 Saurus (1 with Stand Firm)

6 Skinks
1 Skink with Catch
2 with +1 MV
and him above.

RR 2, FF 9, coach, cheerleader and apoth.

What's the problem? MA 7 is still good and it means you are less worried about him getting hurt in the future.

Hang on to him.

Keep him, and give him sidestep as the next skill. This is the guy you either flood into their half to retrieve the ball, or use to blitz recievers while your Meat is on the front line. I just recently lost my Block,Surehands skink and I really miss him for that free safety position.

I would keep him. With MA 7 he is still fast and blodge is great. He has no niggling.
Next skill should be sure hands and he is a good ball carrier.

Surehands is a double for a skink, but if he got one, I would agree.

Next normal skill I'd give him Diving Tackle - then just set him up to use up your opponent's blitz.

As I said, I don't want to retire him, just wondered if the development should be different.

If he get's the SPP (and survives  ) Diving Tackle it is.

Of course, now I'll roll +AG or +ST

Don't even think about retiring him. Block and -1MA is better for a skink than no aging and a normal skill, because they have nothing interesting to take on a normal roll other than side step.

As for development, go with the obvious side step next, than if no other double, maybe diving tackle?

Y'all know that he can't get Sure Hands unless he rolls a double, right?
