Simple Bouncing Ball Question?
Hi,
1) If a player drops the ball, fails to pick it up, fails to catch it etc. and the ball scatters into an empty square, does it scatter again?
2) If the above is yes, what happens if the ball scatters back into the arms of the person who dropped it, and he drops it again into an empty square, does it bounce again?
Thanks
PS Sorry about the probable sillyness of the questions, but in a match the other night, we got a bit confused over this.

Kri: Thanks. That's how I thought it was played, my opponent thought otherwise.

I asked this because i had never heard of people who read the rules this way outside of Montreal. Strangely enough, a lot of people in Montreal play this way, and have been for so long this it's almost impossible to convince them that's not what the rules say. Must be a case of one person reading the rules wrong and then teaching them to everyone this way.

Probably still the good old 3rd edition players! I'm still having a hard time convincing my "league" to play according to the new rules. GFI is still without injurie rolls in my league (not for long if I can help it!)ianwilliams wrote:A league I used to play in played that way too - and no injuries on GFIs either.

You are running a great site by the way. Enjoyed looking at it. Wished I had the time to make something like it!

Go for it has always caused injuries, ever since 3rd ed came out in 94.Draco wrote:Probably still the good old 3rd edition players! Well it was kind of confusing. Here's the rules from 3rd ed.Zombie wrote:Go for it has always caused injuries, ever since 3rd ed came out in 94.
It never says to make an armor and injury roll. It only says "...the player trips up and falls prone ..."GOING FOR IT!
When a player takes a Move, Pass or Blitz action, they may try to move one or two extra squares over and above the number that they are normally allowed to move - this is called 'going for it'.
Roll a dice for the player after they have moved each extra square. On a roll of 1 the player trips up and falls prone in the square that they moved to. On any other roll the player makes the move without mishap. If the player falls over then his team suffers a turnover and their team turn ends immediately.
I always played you made the roll until someone pointed this out to me. I do think JJ meant for there to be an armor roll, but he didn't explicitly say it.
