GOBLIN TRIBAL LEAGUE: Tell me what you want!
Okay, I'm looking into starting a Goblin Tribal Leeg over at REBBL and I want to know who is interested, what you want, and how you want it. So let's hear it.
Specifically, should it be like the rules in Blood Bowl magazine?
Should it include different types of goblin teams like the Skaven league?
Should it allow trolls?
What sort of Dirty Tricks should be included in the cards?
Let's brainstorm.

Well if I may announce that I would love to take part of that League, then I would like to do that.
So here are my Ideas:
Dirrent types of Gobos
Diffrent types of Goblins would be fun, but not are not neccesary. It would add a lot of favor to the League (and add a lot of discusions of what is balanced and what not).
To diffrentiate those teams not only they should have their uniqe Cockerel composition but also uniqe limitations (secret weapons, ceratain dirty tricks only they can use, certain dirty tricks they cant use, ...)
Dirty Tricks
Maybe allow a Wizzard that can perform Dirty Tricks.
You buy this guy or freeboot (or whatever) him and he can do 1 dirty trick. If you buy more of them you get more dirty tricks.
As I said before to diffrentiate the Gobo Teams from each other, maybe add a Special "Wizzo" that performes certain tricks only for 1 Team.
But please: Dont add dirty tricks with Turn Over potential to the list, whatever you do!
Secret Weapons
To make Teams more diffrent maybe allow the Teams diffrent weapons. Team A has Bombs, Team B has Chainsaw, Team C has the Ball&Chain loony, ...
About the Pogo Stick I am not sure. Playing against other stunys I guess no coach would be so desperate that he would use the stick, so nobody would choose the team that is only limited to the pogo as secret weapon. So all teams should be able to choose the pogo stick.
Big Guys
I dont know if the League should have big guys. For TTM I would say yes, but on the other Hand they would not have any other purpose as bashing, stoping, ..., the other big guy(s).
The Ogre might Turn out to be TOO strong or independent so I am not sure about him.
The Troll is dumb enough too be unreliable, so I have no problems with him.
The Teams could get diffrent big guys. For example let some Team get 1 Ogre or Troll, while the next team gets better other players and is limited to 2 Trolls, while the next team may only take 1 Troll but gets far better SW... and so on
Blablabla
At the end of the LEague, we could adjust the teams and balance them out, write a report and send it to GW for the BB Mag to publish.

OK, I want in, and here's my views.
Secret weapons - Yes, yes and yes. One free one and the rest brought using normal rules - max of 4 per team [evil smiley]
Star Players - Yes, but only Troll(s if you allow non-LRB) and Goblins. No Orcs, Ogres or anything else)
Big Guys - Trolls Only!! No Ogres. Maybe an award an the end of the season for the troll who haseaten the most team mates.
Goblins - I suppose it might be fun to have different roster types, but personally I'd like just the normal gobbo one.
SPP's - Allow them for fouling
(Hey, they're gobbo's)
Dirty tricks - Yes, if you can get the auto-turnover ones out of the pack.
Think that's about it.
Oh, no, one more thing.
For a gobbo league only:
Goblin Bully 6/2/3/7 Right Stuff, Stunty, Dodge 50k Agility + General
Just for the fun of a dauntless goblin taking on a troll.
[editted for RobotorZ idea]

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

My .02...
I would like it as just Gobbos... no Big Guys. Basically I like the Mag rules as a base... try it, then go from there.
But obviously I am game for whatever is decided.
One other thing... DL if you allow cards or use cards... you'll have to get Galak to setup a Goblin Leeg choice for the tool, with all the options setup correctly. Also, since GFI of 3+ isn't a current houserule, you may want to see about that. If you need help with anything let me know... Also... keep in mind that it will take me a day or two, maybe less to get the Goblin ladder site setup...

Don't worry T. I won't be ready until after July 15th at least.
As for the 3+ I was thinking maybe we could do progressive GFI or just do it manually. It would be too hard to do manually.
As for the cards...yeah, I mentioned it to Galak a ways back but haven't said anything since then because we had a bit of a lover's quarrel and then he's been doing GenCon stuff.

DL ... let me know what you guys need for cards. Creating new card files and a new league setting for the tool won't take me long at all if you know what you want as your options.Dark Lord wrote:As for the cards...yeah, I mentioned it to Galak a ways back but haven't said anything since then because we had a bit of a lover's quarrel and then he's been doing GenCon stuff.
Also instead of the 3+ GFI ... I would like to seriously enter my vote for using Progressive GFI ... seems like the perfect league for it ... and after all the time I took programming it into the PBeM program I'd love to see it get used (but that's an aside at best) ... I think it would work very well for this type of league.
As for the weapons ... the newest version of the program handles the vast majority of the weapons stuff, so you should be okay to run this type of league with the program.
The only problem with Progressive GFI is that its makes the Pogo Stick weapon worthless. Change the Pogo Stick from its current rules about getting 4 GFI to that the player with a Pogo Stick gets the skills Leap and Sprint while they have the Pogo Stick and that should fix it quite nicely.
Galak
DL ... email what you need from me and I'll take care of it ... I don't know if I'll have time to play in the league or not ... but I'll make sure you have the ini files you need to make it work and I'll post them on the PBeM site to make sure everyone has one spot to grab them from.

Here's where I'm at so far...(school, painting and playing musical jobs have slowed me down) If I forget something somebody let me know...
Teams: Probably just normal 0-16 Goblins. The alternate teams on Galak's site would probably roll right over a normal Gobbo squad and I don't feel like trying to pound out more rosters.
Dirty Tricks:
I was thinking of using the cards from the pub league and just editing the text to make them sound more goblin like. But I may take you up on your offer for more cards. I just can't see a goblin leeg without Custard Pies, Banana Peels, Assassination, Robberies etc.
Secret Weapons: Tim had a great idea about secret weapons. He said we should let the teams purchase one each of 4 different weapons for the team but then allow them to freeboot up to 4 of the secret weapon stars. Ans they should be able to freeboot the same star up to 4X! So for example a team could buy a chainsaw and then freeboot 4 Nobblas!! So for one game they could have 5 chainsaws out there. Appy this to ball and chains or stink bombs and I think you can see the fun!!!
Undecided on SPP's for weapon casualties.
Big Guys: I think we are going to go with 0-1 Goblin Bullies for each team. I think Trolls and Ogres would just end up with so many SPP's from casualties that it would upset things.
Fouling: I have two thoughts on fouling.
1.) As many fouls as you want each team turn (one with each player/ counts as an action) No Star Player Points for casualties or...
2.) One foul per team turn, is a free action (I.E. may be combined with a blitz, pass, hand off, block etc.) Star Player Points are awarded for casualties.
Go For Its: Yeah PGFI's are in. It does seem to fit this league well. As for the Pgo Stick. My thought was that I would make the Pogo's 4 GFI's be 2+ and then the 5th would be at 6+
Your solution works well too. We'll just have to throw some polls up and see what the coaches are into.
Also, we will be using the BB Mag #3 rules...
A TD is cored by having a standing goblin in the end zone at the end of the half. A goblin with the ball in the end zone counts as 2 TDs.
If a team has less than 11 players on the pitch at the start of their turn the coach may send a goblin onto the pitch starting n his own endzone. (player may only make a move action when he enters the pitch)
Thanks Galak
