Star Player

Post by The Doctor »

Now the star players are freebooters, why some teams do not have star players at all (do not count Thrud)?

I think that all teams could have at least three star player in their choice.

one at low cost (120K), one at middle cost (150K), one at high cost (180k).

Teams like chaos and orc have a lot of star player, human have three, another only one and Amazon with Norse nobody.

I think that with the choice of more star player all teams gain more fashion and flexibility.

For example the three star player could be divided in this method to take the games' style of teams.
The high cost are based on the best player and powered (like Griff for human), the low and the middle cost are one like Mighty Zug for Human and the other could be an armed secret weapon star player, a blocker for teams that no have, a good thrower or a good catcher, a all round for the teams that lack abilities (like undead) and so on.

What do you think?

Stars are basically fluff based, there is no real game balance reason behind their distribution or availability.

This is one of the (many) reasons that they were broken in 3ed, now that they are freebooted there is not a big problem and they are a good excuse to roll out some good new figs. I'm expecting to see more in the future.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".
