Quick Q

Post by Chair Man »

Hi all,

Before anyone flames me for asking such a dumbass question, I have tried searching already.... couldn't find anything though

Scenario: Opponent just caused a turnover by dropping the ball. I want to blitz the failed ball carrier, but the only way of doing so involves standing on the ball square as I throw the block.

Question: Do I have to attempt to pick up the ball, or does it scatter, or do I have a choice? And if I do have to pick it up, is this before or after the block?

Cheers!

You must attempt to pick up the ball in LRB 2.0 If you fail it causes a turnover....

You must attempt to do this BEFORE you throw the block

Thats what I thought. But what about the fact that you are running full tilt, intending to inflict much pain? Stopping to pick up the ball doesn't make much sense to me. Especially if you are, say, a beastman.

Yes, it doesn't make much sense - that's why some leagues play without this rule....
But it's as the rules are written, and you get used to it, and it works....
Besides you don't lose the +1 ST bonus!!...

Pick up the ball, he says.

The Blitz is against a player in an adjacent square to your player/the ball. You must deal with any rolls and results in the square that your player is in first, before dealing with the subsquent block.

Pick up the ball first!

You cant do any special house rules on this one!

this is a good one, you have to play the ball first.
you going into this square because you want it, so pick it up.
if you wont, try to find an other way.

We dont care if it is an elf, a beastman or an Ogre, they also like to prove that tyhey can handle the ball.

Blitz still available?

Post by Mike_Black »

If you have to pick up the ball before the block and you don't get it, can you blitz the opponent anyway? I mean it has to be a turnover so your action ends after the failed pick up and therefor there is no blitz at all. Am I right?

so the moral of the story children is to blitz from a square WITHOUT the ball to free it up and make it easier to scoop.

NOS doesn't help with pick-ups.

Big Hand does if you are lucky enough to get Physical traits. :)
