Rules for Star Player Points and Big Guys
Can someone explain to me how rules for Big Guys and SPPs work. I've only just started playing BB again after quite a hefty break and am quite confused by this.
So in nice simple terms... a Big Guy reaches enough points (the same as normal players?) to make a star player roll... and then.....

I guess that just about says it allLRB 2.0 has the following paragraph
BIG GUYS AND STAR PLAYER POINTS
Most Big Guys can take Strength and General skills and traits. Rat Ogres and Minotaurs can take Physical abilities as well (representing mutations), but only if they roll a double. A Big Guy that rolls a double while making a Star Player roll may choose to take General or Strength Traits, or Passing or Agility skills.

The same as for any other player; make a starplayer roll on the same table, and then make an aging roll on the same table and apply both results.
A Big Guy has normal access to Str and Gen skills, and Minotaurs and RO also have access to Phys Ab (just like other players with access to Phys Ab, only on a doubles)

Actually...
Could you explain how the 'half rate' rule used to work too. Was the SPP table doubled for Big Guys? If so, What happened to the numbers in between... i.e. 0-5 is doubled to 0-10, and 6-15 doubled to 12-30, what about? - ignore me if that't not what happened!

Re: Actually...
You used to require double the SPPs for the skill - so 12 SPP for your 1st skill.mrcoffee182 wrote:Could you explain how the 'half rate' rule used to work too. Was the SPP table doubled for Big Guys? I'm afraid not. It was indeed 11, 21, 51, 101 etc.ianwilliams wrote:Using the current table is 6, 16, 31, 51 so a BG requires 12, 32, 62, 102 etcDave wrote:12 or 11 ??
like 11, 31, 61 etc (taking the current table )
The question is what do you double - not the SPPs needed to reach the next step, but the SPPs needed to stay in the step where you are... (that's all getting very legal...).
Therefore, you need to follow the following tables (using the old table, so 11 and not 16 for the second skill etc...):
0-5 : no skill
6-10: one skill
11-25: two skills
26-50: three skills
51-100: four skills
etc.
Then double it to get that for a BG:
0-10: no skill
etc.
Of course, you can wonder what happens to 11, 21 etc: they are included in the next level, and therefore become the minimum amount of SPPs needed to get the new skill roll.
That all seems dodgy somehow, but then, heh, that system was dropped altogether anyway....
