Definitely an apo. And a lineorc is a good choice as you're new to the game. Gobbos are a bit more difficult to use effectively. And besides, it's important that you get enough players to field 11 orcs on defense.

Gobbo will do you no good against your bashy opponent and it would be not completely unlikely that you'd loose him right away. Once you are up to a complete team, preferably with 4 Blitzers and 4 BOBs you can start developing one or two Gobbos as catchers or dirty players.

Until then they are moving targets and attract attentions for players looking for cas spps.

Good luck in the next game, you'll need it outnumbered against another Ork team. But as they say in soccer, any series will come to an end.

True i got this feeling, too. And i saved my gobbo the first game quite well, but on the second game i need him more because of my lasy orcs... and he become injured.

well, back from the trip... great day !

3. Game

Nice weather to play Blood Bowl and my team of finaly 9 orcs (one gobbo and one BO just watched the game at cabalvision) met another full orcteam ( including 4 BO and 2 gobbos).

And the ref decided to give a interview while the game went on ... free fouling for everybody.

I started kicking the ball and, wow, this time the god of the dices seem with me. Normal the pict looked like this and all MY players are down. Not this time...

BTW :The painted ones, with the exection of one lineorc and one BO, are mine.

After some tries one of my opponent gobbos managed to slip through... but the last go for it step he managed to fall down

One of my blitzer got the ball and kept running... three (3!) BOs tried to close the gap, but my blitzer´s throw was faster.

The pass landed perfectly into the hands of my lineorc and he moved on after i cleaned all possible dangers and kicked the other gobbo into the fan... another poor little one... he stayed away from this game with a broken jaw and will stay away from the next game, too

Ok, here a pict of the second half turn 3 ... it started with some less players.

My team, after some casualties, down to 6 against his 9 players. But still my players managed to get the ball...and my team scored again 2:0

The last gobbo made finaly a TD... to many gaps to fill. 2:1

The last turns went into big bashing. And ended with 4 casualities against 1 casuality in my team. Ok, another casuality and one niggling injury because of a foul... but this doesnt count for SPPs, yes ?

21 SSPs this game for me, no dead players, one niggling injury, just two missing the next game ... not to bad this time ?!

Now i have to think about the skill i will give one of my lineorcs.

And we both coaches had a lot of fun. The game, with a lot small talk about my collection and mini collecting, took about 3 hours.

1D6 + 4 and .... tatatataaaa... roll of 1

just 50.000! And with the 10.000 left from the old bill ( yes, i got a apothecary now

) just 60.000.

Not enough for another BO or Blitzer or a thrower as my thrower will sit on the sideline for the next game.

Hm, another new lineorc ? Next team i have to play is a chaos team with 4 CWs and one troll. And a lot of horns of beastmens ...

My team is down for the next game to 9 Players including a -1AV gobbo.... Ok, 3 BOs and 2 Blitzers and a Lineorc with block now.

Or better to save some money for a new BO or Blitzer next game ?

I'd go for the line orc ... some cheap linefood you can place in front of the troll to keep him busy and from blitzing your more important players.

You finally have to manage to start a game with at least 12 players, other wise the hurting will continue.

... and I think a game against chaos with four cws and a troll is the most quiet scenario is you could wish for.

Just a short info about my latest game tonight.
After a bike tour of 36 km, i was coming back back just in time after a short shower for my 4th league game.

We played over 3 hours... damm, i have to quit all those smalltalk and have to think faster, if not, i will never finish a game in 2 hours at Mannheim....

... but lot of fun against this Chaos team and his coach. Picts and comments tomorrow... I´m to tired right now.

But, hehoooo,... i WON 1:0

so 2 losts and 2 wins now.

OK, here the story of my 4th league game and some picts:

This time i started with a team of 10 players: 3 BOs, 2 Blitzers, 3 Lineorcs and 2 Gobbos. 1 Lineorc and the thrower having another beer, watching the game,... blablabla

Opponent Chaos team: 4 CWs, 1 troll and 6 beasties... RR 1, FF 1... not much money to earn in this way

My team was recieving and the ball shattert as far as possible...

somehow one gobbo manage to get the ball, while the other gobbo run for a better position and the blitzer try to open a way...

but somehow one of this damm beastman run though to blitz my gobbo... and after shattering the ball the fans... not my fans for sure

nowhere to pass or to hide... so my gobbo run. And the chaoswarrior followed him

...sneaky git, the little greenling. He evaded the CW and ... standing without protection for the next turn... he decided to get rid of the ball...and he fumbled the pass ( maybe to much running and to much fear

) The ball bounce between the different player few times, but nobody managed to catch the ball.

oh my god, the beastman got the ball... damm! will this the touchdown in turn 7 1 Half.... ?

but somehow my players got some support together and after a blitz just one beastman, holding the ball, stand in the middle of my three guys.

turn 8 of the first half... tension in the air... will he breack through ? (BTW .. rule question: His beastman blitzed my gobbo, got a pushback and follow my gobbo... so he evaded the tacklezones of the blitzer and lineorc. OK or not ?)
He pushed the returning gobbo back and tried to dogde... and... wow, the gobbo, my hero ( he earned the MVP points after the game for sure

stop the beastman and the ball.. without standing beastman

... shattered on turn 8 of the first half into my endzone! What a game.

First turn second half started bad for me... quite a lot players down and a breakthrough.

but again my team managed to stop the attack and after some brawling the next turns my gobbos run the line and handed a blitzer the ball for a touchdown turn 6 second half

to do something real bad now... that must be the feeling of the Chaosteam. So, in turn 8 of the second half, they ganged up on my BO. I saw this will happen, but the only player i could have send helping... was a gobbo. Not good i thought... so my poor BO was fouled and got a smashed knee.

(BTW.. a second BO went out with a smashed knee, too. Argh, again two - mayor- players less for my next game against norses.

A great game... funny with lot of jokes ended 1:0 for my team and 0:3 casualities against my team.

Hope, you enjoy the story. If its too boring, please tell me, because its quite a work to edit the picts.
