Hello and a stupid Question.

Post by Englishchap88 »

Hello,

I have played BB for about six months as my local club just started a league. It is a very good game and painting only a few figures is a welcome break from painting 2000 points of Warhammer models.

Now heres the stupid question me friend and I wanted to know  :

Is it still possible to buy 2nd edition models or do you have to use E-bay? The reason i ask is that my mate is more of a collector than a gamer and would really like to get his hands on some 2nd edition models. I too would also like to get some second edition elves and snotlings.

Thanks in advance

Matthew AKA Pip

I think it's pretty much all ebay now. There's some 2e stars still available, but for your standard 2e figs ebay it is.

And welcome! :)

Ok i talked to my friend and he hates to use Ebay. Do people use the for sale section and sell 2nd edition models.

Thanks again

Much of that is bartering, but yes, some people sell things through that forum. It's fairly rare, though. Ebay is a much better way to go.

A fair bit of trading goes on, but you don't tend to see bulk sales of 2e stuff as a rule. Either keep an eye on it or try putting up a 'wanted/looking to buy' type post up in 'For Sale'...(which we should rename 'Trading Post' or something, it's a better description.)
Most collectors here tend to use ebay though, you might get something like somebody buying a big lot with spare elves in or something.
Good luck!

So in other words if me and me Mate want to collect most of 2nd edition it would be very hard as most don't sell in bulk.

Ok sorry but me mates asked another question:

Does 2nd edition models turn up quite a bit on ebay?

Thanks
Pip

Yeah, pretty common. I've managed to more or less complete the 2e set (apart from a few rares) over the last coupla years, mainly buying on ebay, and trading spares with the community from as far afield as Hawaii, Australia, Canada, etc as well as within the UK and Europe.

Traveller's site is a great resource of 2e and the rest of the BB figs.

Well, you don't have to worry about Snot's trustworthiness, but his sanity is another matter. Out there on the west coast, with no regualar league... It's enough to drive a person crazy...

.

Took me about 3 years to collect all 2.ed minis for my collection ... mostly using ebay. And i bought a lot...

BTW... Did i mention my site ? :smoking:

Tell you friend to be careful... collecting 2.ed minis is expensive and addictive... ask TBB Dave for more questions. He started as player and is ending as collector ! I´m doing the other way from collector to player
