Your solution works well too. We'll just have to throw some polls up and see what the coaches are into.
Giving the Goblin Sprint would give him +1 to one of the PGFI and it would be automated. If you wanted to make it even better let the Pogo Stick = Sure Feet, Sprint, and Leap ... as Sure Feet still rerolls a failed GFI.

If you try to go with four 2+ rolls you'll be having to manually override the PGFI rolls in the game which will be a pain for the coaches.

One idea i had last nite, for big guy substitutes, how about allowing 1 orc team ally. The team could only have 1, it cant use team rerolls.

Are the gobbo rules posted anywhere, I can't find by BB Mag with the rules in?

Hi.

A Gobbo only League, sounds fun.

So, my 2 Eurocents are...

...different Rosters I'd say. It's more fun. Tho we do have 2 Rosters on Galaks site, I would suggest to change them a bit. Like taking out the Squigs for the Night Goblins. Or reducing it to 2, and no Big Guy. And also less Riders for the Forst Goblins. This could balance it all a bit, and bring in a bit more diversity. I could also try to develop some more Rosters, like perhaps Slaanesh Goblins, or something like that. A bit based on the Chaos Halflings :)

...Star Players, no. I always hated them back in the 3rd Ed., was glad that they where took out of the 4th Ed. and still hate them.

...Secret Weapons, yes sounds fun. The Idea about each roster being able to get only one sort of SW is a good one, and I'd say take it.

...Dirty Tricks, defnitly yes. Tho no TO producing ones.

...Fouls. Hmm...yes to the SPP for fouls, but no more other rules about that I'd say.

...Wizards. I would say also yes, but either On-Pitch Wizards, or none. I don't like the off-pitch one.

...Big Guys. Trolls only. Perhaps, counting the Squigs on the Night Goblin Roster as Big Guys.

...GFI's, PGFI's is ok for me :)

I hope I did miss nothing there.

Greetings,

Thomas.

As the Forum does not accept HTML as I would like it to, here is a link to my Ideas of 2 Gob Teams:

I say YES to onpitch spell casters!

And I would like to get a look at the rules too! Only had BB Mag 6 to 7 and lost them when my cat rolled a 1 on her "off for a piss" roll while being locked in my room! :o(

Code: Select all

Goblin League Cockerel:
0-16 Goblin
6 2 3 7, Dodge, Stuny, Right Stuff, A Skill acces, 40k

0-1 Gobo Bully
6 2 3 7, Dodge, Stuny, Right Stuff, Big Guy, G & A Skill acces, 50k

Some Suggestions about the Bully:
I would modify him a little bit more so he doesnt play like a normal gobo from the beginning on. I was thinking of dropping stuny (so he lives a little bit longer), adding bonehead and st3 or mighty blow to him. Maybe allow him Generall and Strenght skill acces like real big guys (and drop agility acces)?

Code: Select all

0-1 Gobo Bully Suggestion 1
5 3 3 7, Dodge, Big Guy, Bonehead, G & A or S Skill acces, ?60k?

0-1 Gobo Bully Suggestion 2
5 2 3 7, Dodge, Big Guy, Mighty Blow, Bonehead, G & A or S Skill acces, ?60k?

Yeah me too.
Darkson, I don't know if the rules are posted anywhere.
I will be writing them up in a word document this Saturday so if you can wait until then I'll send them to you.

I was thinking about an orc big guy too but if you allow any position a thrower, or blitzer is going to be maniacally over powered. (access to rerolls or not). Throw in SPPs for fouling and we'll have teams of 16 goblins built around 1 Super Star. No thanks. This league is supposed to be about having fun and making impossible plays with shitty players, not serious competition.

No problem on the rules. Hell, I might have found my BB Mag by then

I still think the Bully should be normal gobbo stats, just with Gen access. A ST3 and/or Mighty Blow player in an all gobbo league will rule IMO. No to the Orcs as well, though an Orc Lineman as a teams Star would be a rarity

Perhaps an Orc Lineman with the TTM skill?

I think that everyone is missing the point...

DL - not sure how you are handling scoring... but... I will take a stab at it.

Guys - you don't have TD's scored as normal in this league... The kickoff happens and the way you score is: at the end of the half you get a TD for each gobbo of yours in the other teams endzone, if you happen to have a gobbo in the endzone with the ball then he gets a bonus TD. Then the next half starts. So there are only 2 kickoffs the entire game. AND as players get carted off the field, you can bring in reinforcements starting in your own endzone.

So IMHO, TTM is worthless. And other race players and Big Guys really have no place in the league.

There will ultimately be 2 strategies... 1) every gobbo rushes the endzone and hope to have as many gobbos there by the end of the half, avoiding being pushed into the crowd. 2) use your secret weapons and the fact that you can foul as many times as you want, but only once per player per turn, since there is no ref. And try to wipe out the other team, then just walk to the other endzone.

As you can see it isn't like the pub league, or Clan Bowl, or the dwarf league. This is a TOTALLY different beast.

I think that with 4+ SW's on the field and all Gobbos and all the fouls there will be plenty of chaos and deaths... to not warrant Big Guys or TTM (why would you risk killing your own guys?? when each one that dies is a 'lost TD'.)

Hope that helps...

And yeah :puke: on a Line Orc with TTM...

That's the fella's. Tchatter, thanks for writing them all down.

Ok, my final thoughts, before I go and see how many RR's I can squeeze in.

SW - 4 (make 1 free, just for fun, players choice[evil grin])

BG- no, no and no! (See, I can change my mind)

Bully - one only, normal gobbo stats, plus General access, 50K

SPP for fouling - no,...yes,.....no,......yes,.....dammit!

Out of interest, is the max roster still 16 players? And is it still max 11 on the pitch at any one time?
