Meanwhile, back on topic...
I think it might be interesting to have a skill that lets a player on the defending team reposition in response the attackers have set up, a bit like the perfect defense kickoff table result. You could limit its power if necessary by saying you can't move on or off of the line on scrimmage or in or out of the widezones and/or by making it a 3 square move, like pass-block. It would be like in American football when receivers move sideways before the snap and the defenders follow them.

WHAT!?! You've got to be kidding, you guys right the words the way they sound? What do you guys learn past 2nd grade?Mestari wrote:This is definitely slipping to the Off-topic direction, but even though I prefer to write words in their proper forms, I must say that I dislike the fact how much the written english has deviated from the spoken form.
Example: finnish language is written as it is spoken - every letter stands for a certain sound. And that sound doesn't vary from word to word.
Makes a lot more sense, doesn't it? When you hear a word or a name, you never need to ask how to spell it, because it's spelled exactly the way it's said.
I suppose you are going to tell me "relevant" subjects, because we have to spend 12 years learning why nothing is written the way it sounds. (like French)

I like that one as well, but it would have to be a Trait, maybe a General one, called "Defensive read" or something. If it was a skill I would be sticking it on everyone.Stu wrote:Meanwhile, back on topic...

This looks a bit like Kickoff Return, doesn't it?Stu wrote:Meanwhile, back on topic...

From Galak's site (www.midgardbb.com)
Kickoff return (General Skill)
A player on the receiving team may use this skill when the ball has been kicked. It allows him to move up to 3 squares towards the ball after the ball has been scattered but before it hits the ground (and bounces). All normal movement rules apply with the exception that no Go For Its are allowed during this special move. Players set up on the Line of Scrimmage may not use this skill. This 3 square movement occurs before resolution of kickoff table result. Only one player may use this skill each kickoff and must be used to move towards the's ball landing square. This skill may not be used for a touchback kickoff and does not allow the player to cross the line of scrimmage into the opponent's half of the field.
