Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.
Can a Fireball hit a prone/stunned player in the blast radius
Let's be honest. It would be very strange if a prone player can elude a fireball and the player standing next to him is killed by the same fire blast! I'd vote for yes of course he gets damage (maybe even more because he's defenceless add a +1 to both AV and INJ)
Can you apothecary an player who is eaten by Always Hungry. If a player is eaten who did not have the ball is it a turnover? If the player eaten had the ball, what happens
1. I'd say no. What surgeon is going to knock out the ogre and then operate to retrieve the player from it's tummy.
2. I'd say no again. It was't the turn of the player but of the eater. The eater did nothing that can cause a turnover so no turnover.
3. I'd say turnover and a new kick-off since the ball has vanished as well!
"Before taking an action with a player with this characteristic that is neither prone or stunned, roll a D6. On a 2+, he is fine and may continue his action as normal. On a 1, he takes root into the pitch. For the rest of the drive, he is considered to have an MA of 0 and cannot Go For It. He will still be able to block adjacent opponents without follow-up."
Very good indeed! I also think he should hold on to the ball if he has it. I mean, there no real reasing for him losing it now is there! Also TZ should still count, especially if you want to aloow blocking as well.
Re-review the "Why do I HAVE to try and pick up the ball?"
This is more for game play I think. It makes BB hard to win. If you can have the ball scatter all places by just stepping on it I think the AG teams are being favored again.
Imagine three dwarves covering up the ball nicely and then an elf player wakes on to the ball spot, declares not to pick it up. It scatters to a better square where it can be picked up more easily, the elf dodges away (easy thing to do if your not Draco) picks up the ball and heads of for an easy TD. I say make it hard, make it BLOOD BOWL and make the elf or whatever pick it up!
Re-organize the rulebook to remove the Advanced rule section. Then group like topics more closely together. There should not be 8 pages between Throwing the Football and Interceptions/Fumbles
Put this remark in a recent thread about passing the ball. Depending on the space you need, you could add a small sideline with refering topics. For example:
Passing and throwing: Also see: Hail Mary Pass pag...
Blunderbuss pag...
Interceptions pag ...
Etc.
Does using a Blunderbuss if its not caught cause a turnover?
Same goes for Hail M. Pass. Correct me please if I'm wrong.
hail mary pass is done using the pass rules, it is a pass action so if someone on your team doens't catch it then it is a turnover
thats clear cut which is why it isn't on the list, although andy before the blood bowl said the blunderbuss doens't cause a turnover, but many feel this is too powerful which is why its up to the BBRC to discuss
as for who takes part in discussing the rules just take a look in the front of the living rulebook it has a list of all the guys who are in the bbrc

I agree that it is very powerfull indeed, but then it's also very illegal. I'd say it ought to be a turnover cause you're losing the ball!
GalakStarscraper wrote:WA only requires you to block if you can.
Although I agree with your interpretation that isn't what the rules actually say. They say you must take a block or blitz action if you are standing next to an opponent.
You can make a good case for saying that the RO can't take any other sort of action and a Block action just does nothing.
The rulez should be clarified on this, cause you could also read it this way: He I cant block the opponent next to me so I have to take a Blitz move on someone a few squares away. I think it needs pointing out that the block should be made against the player standing next to the WA and not anyone else.
Please stop posting individual replies to what's on the hot list. If I understand correctly this topic is to debate what should be on the list, not what the answers should be.
Sorry about that Ian, I misread the thought behind this topic then I guess. Only trying to be helpfull. Thanks for guiding me back on the road.
Won't happen again though!

No problem ... you are new to the forum.
The Hot List is there for items that have received extensive debate in another GW thread. Because of the debate the item is added to the Hot List to make sure it gets properly included in the discussions by the BBRC in October. I am not a member of the BBRC and I don't write the LRB (thats Andy Hall's job). I just run the list to try to make sure nothing gets missed.
