What the change for? It totally takes the fun outta play a strength team and kiciking the snot outta other teams. By playing a strength team you give up the ability to score at will like the elves. In return, you gain the ability to lay a real hurting on teams. And BTW, I still see the Agility team scoring even with 4 or 5 players if thier coach is smart, just from a higher movement and a higher agility. I say save PO, or other wise all the teams out there will be nothing but Elves.
It is not that I have something against Elves other than the fact that they are well overplayed.

I have always assumed that the Piling On player declares he is doing so BEFORE the armour roll. The rules says "may use this skill after he has made a block, but only if the victim was knocked over". I thought you would use the skill right after the block and so before the armour roll.

Perhaps.. I agree that for balance reasons it should be changed back to 3rd ED rules, but I can easily imagine (fluff-wise) how the skill is used after the Armour Roll... after all, to the Blocking player the Block and the Armour Roll is the same (you hit the opponent!) then, if the hit didn't feel good, you'd pile on the opponent..

The above thread pretty well details the change, and it was started by a BBRC member. PO will almost certainly be changed in the next rules review, but the question is what will it be changed to?

I asked this question to the fanatic office:
"Piling On
Do you choose whether to use Piling On after the block has been made or after the armour roll?
The latter seems so overpowered and is almost an automatic injury"
This is the answer, but the email came with private and so forth, so you wont get names.:
HI There
Its the former. Hope this helps.
Cheers, hear from you soon,

Never, ever trust an answer you get from one of the Trollz (or whatever name they're calling themselves this week)!

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I was tossing around some ideas in my house league about pile-on.
First: Make it a foul, you are hitting someone that is down.
Second: Make it a trait, a lame one, but GW did it for dauntless and jump up
Third: +2 to the amour roll instead of +Str
Looks like everyone liked #3.
Has anyone tried something similar to this? If so how did work out?
If not I'd love to hear opinions on this.
I think #3 really fixes a broken rule.
