If all your players are gone...?

Post by The Don »

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the search...

What do you do if all of your players end up in the dougout during a match? I know it doesn't happen that much but in my league we've tried it a couple of times, and we don't know what to do...?

Any comments? Suggestions? Rules?

Yeah I know :)

But seriously anyone got any ideas or is there a rule for this? I really need to know, because it happened in my last game, and we didn't know what to do...

Interesting situation :o Well, Oberwald says...
"If a team kicking off has no players on the field, a touch-back will occur. If the receiving team has no players on the field, kick off as normal. If a touchback occurs, leave the ball where it lands on the field. If it went out of bounds the crowd can throw it."

This is actually on the BBRC list: Official Clarifications/Q&A required. the 6th point discussed in the list.
So wait and see what Da Wize Guyz decide.

(I would vote for automatic conceding myself...) :smoking:

I'd simply play on and wait till your players can get back on the field again. Normally, if such a thing would happen, the opposing team will score in two turns and there will be a new kick off. At which point some of your players can hopefully take to the field again.

(Unless of course he is one of those annoying coaches who deliberately postpones scoring...)

Yeah we've tried that... We simply just gave the coach a TD to a player he decided, and then the other coach would be allowed to roll for all his KO'd players... I just wanted to know if there was a real ruling...

Guess I have to wait untill october then....

But IMO that's just a little stupid and not very realistic.
Imagine:
- "Oh shit coach we have to defend our endzone, but we have no players lef!"
- "Yeah you right, but f**k it! If we're lucky they won't notice it!"

Why would a whole team play against no one? I think some house rules should be made....

See you in the "House Rules" section :)

you play like that cause what if you had built up a 5-0 lead and there were only a few turns left

you might also have some KO guys who will come back after the next touchdown so could be set up on the field

But don't forget, blood bowl is a brutal and bloody sport in which players want to score as many touch downs and casualties as possible. And sometimes there are just a bit too many casualties.
I personally would enjoy having blocked every opponent off the pitch and score lots of TDs. Good for goal difference. :)

Good point... But something needs to be done here...
Maybe the team who inflicted all the casualities should get some bonus FF and MVP's, cause it really is something when this happens...

I don't know that you'll find general support for that idea, but you can certainly houserule it.

There are actualy references in the BB Fluff (ie Did You Knows and NAF Facts) of teams playing Blood Bowl games without the other team having any players on the pitch. So it fits the history of the game without difficulty.

Galak
