Chainsaw questions

OK, people are getting confused.

My human has a chainsaw. He is blitzed by a skaven linerat. The rat rolls a both down and neither have block. My human takes the +3 to AV. Does the rat?

The only times the human is adding +3 to the linerat's Armour roll, is when he is either 'attacking with the chainsaw instead of making a block' or when making a foul himself. In all other cases he doesn't. (Page 31 LRB)

The only time you get +3 to your opponents Av is when making a chainsaw attack. So it doesn't apply if you are blocked (or block).

The wording is a bit strange using "normal block". Does this mean the player cannot attack with the chainsaw using a blitz?

You can blitz with a chainsaw - a blitz action is a block with movement.

If you can throw a normal block instead of using the chainsaw, does that mean a chainsaw attack with movement is really a blitz? Technically a blitz is movement and a block. But this is movement and a special attack, so can you move and attack with chainsaw and blitz with someone else?

Does that mean a player with a running chainsaw still has the option to perform a normal block?

Not sure what you mean for certain.
He CAN make a block action and choose not to use his saw.
He CANNOT use the saw and then choose to block someone.

And yes he can "blitz" with the chainsaw.


As for Darkson's question. I'd say it's added to both. If you block an ogre and get a both down the ogre still uses mighty blow.
