High Elves with lots of +AG - where to go?

Post by DoubleSkulls »

My team is here

In brief I've got 2 Dragon Warriors, one with +AG & Tackle, the other +AG and Dauntless. I've also got 2 line elves who have picked up +AG for their 1st skill. :D

I was thinking about giving both Dragon Warriors leap next but can't decide for the line elves. I'm tempted by dodge and pass block.

Suggestions?

If you get a double on lineman no. 9 he needs guard - then leap :D

dragon warrior MUST have leap - AG 5 dauntless leap :P :P :P

A whole team leaping on 2+ is going to be annoying - you could end up with the ultimate cage breaking team... leap stripball - another great combination...

I can understand pass block - but who is going to try the throwing game against them? Do you have a lot of elves in your league - the rest of the teams should dictate what skills you pick...

Leap is a great choice for anyone with a 5 agility. Block is always a good default skill if you'd like to keep your players alive. Sure Hands is a good skill for 5 AG players as well, since they serve as excellent passers in a pinch, and can pick up a ball very reliably, even in a tackle zone.

I'd save the pass block for the lion warriors with their catch skill, unless you play in a high agility league, as Noodle suggests.

Did #15 get -1AG aging, or is the roster incorrect?

 I forgot to change the AG value - it ought to be 5.

At the moment I don't feel a need to give the two linemen Leap next. 2 leaping Dragon warriors ought to handle that side of things :D

I think that pass block on both linemen is the best option. Spread them on both sides on the pitch and nobody will dare play the passing game against you anymore...

Pass Block sounds nice to me.
If you give it to both linemen and put them on both sides of the board, your opponent will be at a pain to throw a pass.

Leap & Strip Ball on the Dragon's, and Pass Block & Dodge on the Line Elves.

I'd choose pass block on both linemen. And those Dragon Warriors with leap are real pain in the ass. Your team is on its way to be a very very very very very very very annoying team :D

But it does depend on the league - pass block is worth squit in a league full of dwarfs and undead (the way our coaches play them anyway)

I wouldnt bother with Pass Block on the Line Elves.

I'd still stick to getting them a 'general purpose' skill like Block or Dodge next.

Leap allows for some fancy blitzing, but otherwise is usually outperformed by Dodge which is more general and helps with Survival of a LineElf.

The mobility AG5 gives you works well with Block too. Ag5 allows a lot of cool things without any other skills to go with it. I've had a few of my Block LineElves get AG5, and they definately become more useful after that since you can re-position them very easily, or on defense, pick up the ball after the Ag5 Leaping Blitzer did his job. And, otherwise still be 'Block' useful.
