Chaos Elves

Post by ryani »

The concept for this team is an AV 9 elven team. I was thinking about how to make one when I thought about 5/4/3/9 Chaos Warriors and decided to try to base the elven team off of them, except switching agility and strength.

0-12: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf: G,A $70k
0-2: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf Thrower: Pass G,A,P $90k
0-2: 7 2 4 8 Chaos Elf Beastman: Horns, Catch G,A,Phys $80k
0-4: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf Warrior: Block, Sure Feet G,A,Phys $100k

Big Guys: 1 Minotaur
Apoth: yes
Rerolls: $60k
They've been playing in our league and seem to be doing a bit above average.

One team is 4-3-1--their first game they won by forfeit, however, when a pitch invasion destroyed their opponent's starting team. The other team is 2-1-0. If I was to remake the team now I'd make the Thrower into a runner by replacing Pass with Sure Hands and dropping the cost by $10k. I'm also not sure if they need a Minotaur on their roster with 8 position players.

Anyways, comments welcome.

You could visit Plasmoids league page. If I remember correctly, his league has "altered" the high elf roster to something like this:

0-12 Lineelf 5 3 4 9 No skills, G, A 70k
0-2 Throwers 5 3 4 9 Pass, G, A, P 80k
0-4 Catchers 7 3 4 8 Catch, G, A 90k
0-2 Blitzers 6 3 4 9 Block, G, A 100k

Re-rolls: 50k

Just by glancing and not using any of the math programs i can tell u, NO NO NO NO. Way too much power (i dont mean st, in general terms),your prices are way too low for what those last 2 guys can do.

Aren't there Slannesh Elves (or something like that) on Galak's website?? Can't remember how they are like, but you could take a peek at them to compare.

I ran this team for two league seasons before retiring them ... much much fun.

I'd be curious when I get some time to run your team through the PH system and see what numbers I get. (Every team in the MBBL2 is already balanced on the PH system ... the last thing PH did before vanishing was help me rebalance the MBBL2).

Okay here's what wrong with the team.

On the PH Scale its only Power 75.78 with Value 44.35

With Blocking 74.23, Throwing 73.24, Running 65.64, and Potential 78.73

So on the surface it doesn't exceed any of the maximum so it must be okay ... right.

The problem from looking over the official teams is that none of them have a minimum of the gaming scores as high as 65.64. The closest match is Dark Elves whose blocking is 61.91 as their minimum of the 4.

What I'm trying to say is that the reason the team is doing so well is that despite being priced fairly and having the right PH Power and Value, it lacks a true weakness. They do all things in BB well, Blocking, Throwing, Running, and Growing ... this is why they are doing so well in your league.

But I appreciate you showing the team ... it allows me to add at least one more guideline to the PH system ... at least one of the 4 gaming stats must be below 62.

Thanks guys ... I'll add that to the list.

0-12: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf: G,A $70k

With easy access to Block + Dodge and AG 4 and AV 9 70K is about 20K too cheap. These guys will be maniacs at 16spps!

0-2: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf Thrower: Pass G,A,P $90k

Same as above. About 20K too cheap.

0-2: 7 2 4 8 Chaos Elf Beastman: Horns, Catch G,A,Phys $80k

:o This is 80K? What formula are you using? At face value, assuming all skills were equal, yes. But all skills aren't equal are they? You have essentially taken away his ST characteristic to lower the price but added it back in for free. Horns and easy access to Blodge takes away any ill effect of ST 2. Give this guy Block + Dodge + Xtra Arms and you have one maniac catcher!

0-4: 5 3 4 9 Chaos Elf Warrior: Block, Sure Feet G,A,Phys $100k

And you are just off the deep end here. This guy should be 120K at least. 6 spps gain him Dodge + Block and AG 4! Sheesh!
Basically what you have made is a team where the thrower can easily pass (AG 4) to anyone on the team! MA 5, you say? Big whoop! He's impossible to take down, so it's no big deal if he has to take 2 or 3 turns to score. Can you imagine a cage of AV 9 Blodgers around an AG 4 Blodge ball carrier? Good God!

Big Guys: 1 Minotaur
Apoth: yes
Rerolls: $60k

Umm...60K is way too low for this team. Should be at least 70K or 80K if you don't get rid of all the AG 4, Blodge and AV 9.

Dont forget the fact he only needs one double to be an Uber blitzer by getting dauntless. Blodgy + horns + dauntless (not out of the question with mv 7 and ag 4) = Best blitzer of the game bar none, since the gr needs 2 doubles and does not have as much st backing him up in his own team.

Good point.

I think in the hands of an experienced power gamer this team could wreak havoc.

Dark Eldar have got to be about the best 40k range to make into bloodbowl, even better than most fantasy mini's for their race.

Actually, I was just thinking of doing a Dark Eldar BB conversion, will probably look really cool.

The days of arcades were awesome, 10 coins the rite size for bases for $1.00. Now tho my stockpile consists of european national coins (deutchmarks, francs and such),
