The player didn't CAUSE the casualty ... the crowd did. The player pushed the opponent into the crowd, but the rule book is quite clear that it is the crowd that does the deed when it comes to the casualty.

I guess, as usual, many of us try to read this rule in to their own advantage. I honestly would have read it as: "The player made a block and as a result the opponent was BH or whatever gives 2 SPP's."
Maybe, just maybe :-? , the word "blocked" in the SPP section on LRB page 39 could be changed by "blocked and knocked over" or "knocked over on the pitch".
Or add: "If a player (not the crowd) kills, etc...
Just a minor change to avoid confusion for people, like me  , who want to (ab)use rules the way they read it! :smoking:

I'm with Draco on this one. Like in tort cases, one doesn't have to directly cause harm to be liable. There's no doubt that if the player by the boundary was not blocked, there would be no injury. I believe the intent was to exclude fouls and players failing dodge rolls from giving SPP.
