Remember, if the range-divider is situated anywhere within the recievers square, then the longer range is used.
Plasmoid's comment is the key.

To show the ranges in this format, I set the PBeM Tool to the Red/Green color blind option with the LRB 2.0 settings where if any part of the line touches the square the longer range is used. Here is what the pass range pattern looks like.

But the line does not touch the square. It is over the edge/line of the square.

Aftermath of GenCon ... my board and range ruler have gone missing.

Anyone got a pic to show the Short to Long boundary (include in the pic how the start of the range ruler is positioned.)

Hi again,
I just pulled my ruler and board out and measured.
The range divider is definately inside of the 7th sqaure - by about 2-3mm.
That mans that short range is only 6 squares.
Unless ofcourse someone is using the old polysterene board with the smaller squares?

Hi again Galak,
BTW - a friend of mine made a program to calculate the ranges.
I don't know if his math is any good, but this is what he got:

Code: Select all

B
BBBBB
BBBBBBB
LLLBBBBBB
LLLLLBBBBB
LLLLLLLBBBB
LLLLLLLLBBB
SSSLLLLLLBBB
SSSSSLLLLBBB
SSSSSSLLLLBBB
QQSSSSLLLLBBB
QQQSSSSLLLLBB
QQQQSSSLLLLBB
XQQQSSSLLLLBBB
Martin :)

Double checks needed on':
line 1 ... I have BBB
line 2 ... I have an extra B on the end
line 3 ... I have an extra B on the end
line 7 ... I have an extra B on the end
line 8 ... I have 1 more S, 1 less L
line 9 ... I have 1 extra B
line 11 ... I have 1 more S, 1 less L
line 12 ... I have 1 extra B on the end
line 13 ... I have 1 extra B on the end

Hi Galak,
I checked all of the ones that you pointed to, and all of them are correct in my friends version, as far as I can tell. I even drew on my board to be sure to have the exact centre of the square for the circular starting point.

Most of the problems are with the Bs (Long Bombs). I should point out that I'm using the black divider 3mm from the end of the ruler, rather than the actual end of the plastic, to figure out how far a long bomb is.

Anyway, that's what I get.
Anyone else?

Martin :)
