New to the forum, introducing myself

Greetings all,

I just signed up for this great forum, so I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and introduce myself! I'm a new Blood Bowl player from the Minneapolis area, and the local store I play at is starting a "Monday Night Blood Bowl League" to go along with Monday Night Football, so I figured this would be a great time to get into the game

I was thinking about starting with Chaos Dwarves because I play a Chaos Army in 40K, and have always liked Dwarves. How does this look for a starting 1M roster?

6x Chaos Dwarf Blockers
6x Hobgoblins
4x Re-Rolls
9x Fan Factor
1x Apothecary

I was planning to start with out the Bull Centaurs because they will catch up skill wise much faster than either my Blockers or my Hobgoblins will, and I think the extra re-roll, Chaos Dwarf, and access to the Apothecary right from the start will be good. It will also teach me how to store with out the Bull Centaurs, which leads to my next question..

What is the best offensive strategy for a Centaur less CD team? I don't think I can play the basic Dwarven cage, and I certainly don't have the speed/skills for a passing game.. So would somebody who has some experience with the Chaos Dwarves fill me in please? I would much appreciate it

PS. Yes, I have also already figured out that nuffle sucks..the last three times one of my players has had to go for it to score a TD..well...we all know what I rolled... thankfully the last two times I had managed to keep a RR... Damn that Nuffle!!!

Welcome, and your starting lineup is fine. Your next purchases should be 2 bc's and possibly a big guy; i would usually go bc, troll, bc.

Welcome MechD! It's good to see you have found the truth, Nuffle does truely suck! You should check out our NBA thread in the off topic section (you will have to skim past the spamming by the RCNers), we would offer you an opportunity to join the Nuffle Blasphemer's Association if you wish. We are doing a number of things such as getting t-shirts made and I am making a NBA BB team with minis to represent each member. Check it out.

Hi,

thats almost the way i started my 2 chaos dwarf teams, except you can get a 5th reroll instead of the apothcary, that tends to freak other people out playing a team with 5 rerolls and you can get the apoth after match 1

Hey guys,

Well this certainly looks to be a friendly web board! I'm glad to be aboard!

Okay then...

First off. Starting roster..are five re-rolls really needed at the start of the team? I was thinking four would work just fine, because then I could get one later on to drop my TR a bit, and since I would already have the apoth, I would wouldn't have to spend my first match winnings on him, and would then be that much closer to my first BC... speaking of the Apoth, what have you CD players found makes a good CD apoth model? I was thinking the Earth Shaker cannon master gunner would make a good head coach, but nothing is striking me as far as the apoth..

Second.. Any strats for CD offense? Or would that get a better response over in the team tactic and development section?

Third.. I will certainly be checking out the NBA thread over in the off topic section Torg, as from any of the games I played you guys seem to have nailed his correct nature down pat!

CD Offense Strategy? Well from the CD teams I've come up against... Hitting hard and knocking people out really works well. Oh and the fouling... don't forget the fouling...

Btw, Nuffle does NOT suck! Join the Reformed Church of Nuffle! The misguided fools at the NBA believe that their bad luck with dice rolls is due to Nuffles curses, However this is NOT the case! Join the RCN by posting over in the RCN thread in the Off topic board. People will tell you what to do.

Grasshopper, I was actually planning to foul opposing players on a fairly regular basis (must stay in character now right?), why do you think I have 12 players on my starting team?
