assisting a foul

Post by tik »

Old rules this was easy to work out. Now, how do people think assisting a foul is worked out?
To me it seems that defensive assists mean that a friendly player is exerting a tackle zone on the prone player, with no enemy player exerting a tackle zone on the defensive assist player.
Is this right? what is right?

No, for a defensife assist you have to stand next to the player fouling (with or without excerting a tacklezone on him) and no opponents excerts a tacklezone on you except from the player fouling.
It works just like block-assist, but you cannot use guard.

slup's right, it means that even boneheaded players can assist a foul provided they are in no opposing TZs

thanks, so in general, one won't get very many defensive assists when fouling.

Assists for fouls is counted just as you would count block assists.
Forogt to add that guard does off course not help when fouling.
