Grasping tentacles of Altanson and re-roll possible?

Post by darthvincor »

Here's the magic item:

"MI - Grasping Tentacles of Altanson. A brave fan has journeyed on an Epic Quest to bring you this magic scroll, which you can use during the match. You can use this scroll to cast a spell on a player in your team when an opponent tries to dodge out of his tackle zone. The opposing player automatically fails his dodge roll and falls over. "

Last night in a Humans - Dwarfs semi-final, the opposing coach used this magic item on me when my dwarf runner attempted to dodge.
The dodge, like the magic item states, automatically fails. But, is it possible to use a re-roll in this case?

No, as reroll is not another attempt to dodge but to change the dice you rolled you will still fail the dodge.

We wrote that very fact on the special play card...
If the player has stand firm though I don't think he'd fall over...

No he would not fall over if he had stand firm as its treated like a normal fialed dodge.

Ah yes...

Of course on the special play card it said "automatically fails the dage and falls over"

Now that to the good old rules lawyers of my league  meant stand firm was useless....

2 actions - "fail dodge", "and fall over"

Anyway I digress...
