Greetings and Felicitations
Hi All,
I have just joined the Forum and thought it might be nice to introduce myself. I am an old geezer with some years experience of GW games (mainly Warhammer) and little experience of BloodBowl. I used to play, in the misty recesses of a murky past, on an Astrogranite pitch with the Humans and Orks differentiated by removable base rings. Lost something I think trying to tell a Blitzer from a Thrower just by the colour of his base...
Anyway, this year got back into Bloodbowl after discovering quite a large Net community and wanting a simple game (d'oh!) to bring my whole family into gaming. We all have teams now and I have set up a league which is just starting to grow out of the family's bounds. I am on a steep learning curve with a Lizardman team, my other half fields Dwarves (they are killers!), my son fields Halflings (he wanted a challenge!) and my three girls field Orcs, Dark Elves and High Elves! We have a Human player and my son is starting up a Skaven team. Quite a bunch of challenges.
We have a Trophy for the League winners at the end of the season and it is quite exciting for all to think that it will be engraved with the winning team's name and held until the next season.
I have just managed to get hold of an old edition of Dungeonbowl from eBay and am discovering some problems with the size of the squares and simple game mechanics. I will post later when I have thought them through a bit. I have followed quite a few threads in here to see whether any one else has had similar problems and notice that quite a few peple have (*nods knowingly*).
Lastly, I'd like to say thank you to the organiser(s) for setting up this forum - it seems both lively and informative.
Thanks for reading

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you have a nice little league there, should be lots of fun. there are definatly ways to make the Dungeon bowl rules work. Since you are new to the online comunity The first place I would send you is to Galak's site.
www.midgardbb.com
Info on everything there, including an old White Dwarf article on updating DungeonBowl.
Good Luck and you came to the right place to ask questions. Anything you need to ask you will definatly get an answer here.

Welcome!
You can find an updated version of DungeonBowl on the official BB website in the resourses section, http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/resources.htm.
BTW, don't listen to those RCN weirdos, they just look for new members so they don't feel like complete losers. We in the NBA (Nuffle Blasphemer's Association) don't actively try to seek new converts, people join us on their own accord when they figure out the truth that Nuffle sucks. Anyway, do what you wish, just enjoy your stay here (and don't take things too seriously).

Man, I remember the old astrogranite pitch really well.
Funny you should mention that Silvermane, because it was that experience as a mere 12 year old that got me into the game when I was the tender age of 23!!
It took me so long because I couldn't remember what the game was called or where my friend had got it from, and was never into Warhammer when I was little.
Then one day at work, a lad mentioned the name of a game he played, which happened to be blood bowl, and explained it to me. Finally, I found out what my friend had been playing all those years ago.
Happy rolling!

Thank you for the welcome
Thanks for the warm welcome, all.
Our league has been going for about 8 weeks now with most people having played about a dozen games. I think we have figured that we will end up with a couple of trophies. One for the overall league winner - based on points (5 for a win, 3 for a draw and 1 for a loss). Then we will have a tournament and present a cup for that - probably played initially by random draw and then as a knockout. Lastly, if we can figure out a bit more about Dungeonbowl we may have a Dungeonbowl tournament around Christmas time to finish it all off!
I would be interested in hearing how others manage their leagues as most of this I have had to figure out on the fly! And they only have little bodies and six legs which doesn't leave a lot of room for scribbling
I do have a couple of questions about how other people resolve some of the difficulties with Dungeonbowl but this is prob. not the place for them - I'll try and find the correct forum.
Thanks again

A whole family playing BB?! I would allready be happy if my wife would play any game at all! So far no way, and she probably never will! She does let me play others without complaint though so that's ok.
Most welcome to TBB. Enjoy, have a good time. Torg is right. don't look at NBA or RCN (in that order
) unless you would be interested!
@ Torg. Haven't seen any of Bluetooths "advertisements" lately? He's really doing his best trying to win souls for the NBA. It's not just Xtreme for the RCN.
