Armour Roll on Out of Bounds Block?

Post by MixX »

Hi! I have a rules question which I couldn't find the answer to in the rules:

If a player is blocking an opponent out of bound using a Clearhead, does he get to roll an Armour Roll (and if it beats Armour then injury) or does he lose his roll since the crowd beats up the opponent?

I mean, it's not the falling to the ground that hurts when Blocking is it??? On the other hand, I think it says somewhere that the player needs to hit the ground ("fall over") for an Armour Roll to take place.. We've always played that you do get an Armour Roll, and if succesful an Injury roll, and then a further injury roll (from the crowd) but I'm not sure if this is right?

Thx in advance!

Nope, no AV roll. The crowd beat him up straight away.

Though you can houserule still to get the AV roll for the chance of a cas.

The rules say no armor roll. We house rule that you get SPPs for casualties inflicted anyway (audiance participation!). We alsso give a bonus SPP for fatalities. Thus the armor roll alows m'blow etc to apply to the injury roll and the chance for the "Bonus" fatality point.

As Darkson said, we house rule too allow an armour roll and injury roll for the player if it was a starburst too see if you get a cas, if not the crowd just beat him up.

Is it a House rule???

Here's your text on crowds:
Players may only be pushed off the field if there are no
eligible empty squares on the field. A player pushed off
the field is beaten up by the crowd and must roll on the
Injury Table (see Injuries, opposite). No modifiers apply
to this roll.
Note that no Armour roll is made for a player that is
pushed off the pitch, they are automatically injured.
Here's on Casualties:
Casualties (CAS): If a player kills, seriously injures, or
badly hurts an opposing player then they earn 2 Star
Player points. The points are only earned if the player
blocks an opponent or is blocked by an opponent himself.
Casualties inflicted in any other way do not count for Star
Player points.
If I was playing devils advocate I would argue that the crowd casualty 'was the direct result of a block' - after all they were blocked into the raging fans!

So Gimme the 2 SPP's! 8)

:o Nice to see the BBRC are consistent in their rules interpretation

Please let's not change this in the rules review - frenzy is plenty good enough as it is.

Actually you are here showing the opposite.
Under casualities it says if a player...., while under crowds it says a player pushed off the field is beaten up by the crowd.
Player and crowd is not the same so no SPP :P

Apart from the fact that it's just too easy to collect SPPs that way. It's good as it is (for a pushback you get a player removed and an auto-injury). No need to beef it up. Let's just follow the route of fouling where you don't get SPPs bc it's too easy to injure a player.

Pushing out of bounds... Always has its own rewards...

When playing against other teams, with players having: "Dodge", and "Block", not much can knock them over... Unless, you have Counter Skills...

Example:
My Amazons, with several games under their Garter Belts, most of them will have "Block Skill" added to along with the "Dodge Skill".

So from previous Seasons, I remember too well, "Man your Amazons are Cheesy, nothing I can do to knock you over!!" Wahhhhhhhhhh... Sounds like an Elf Team... Yeah, I heard that, Elves with AG 2 crying, pleeeeeease... heheheheeeeee...

Now, you have them against the "Out of Bounds", 4 sides of the Blocking Dice can possibly put them out of the game now... 3 Pushes and 1 Pow! Yes, that would be 66% now... Instead of 16.3% with only the Pow Result...
Now, you are thinning out their numbers on the pitch... Scoring, Double Teaming and Fouling are more Numerous, because there are less opponent's team players are on the pitch...

Some of you might or might not agree with me, but that is how I see Pushing players off the Pitch...

Awww - C'mon!

I was only joking :-?

Can't you see 'Devil's advocate'?

Official ruling is of course "no SPP's" - I was just stirring the pot. Asmodan is perfectly correct in his debunk :)

Babs,

That's a dangerous game to play though. There are coaches/leagues that take BBRC's words as gospel, and if they only see your first post.......
