Throwers futures
I have one thrower with +1 Ag and dump off and one with +1 Mv and NOS. Should I develope one as a "defensive" and one as "offensive". If so which would offend more?
Or should both be built multi-role in different styles?

Your ag+1 is very good to pick up the ball after some one with stripball(?) has blocked the ball carrier. I would get sure-hands on him, and then strong arm. Safethrow isn't that important, you just have to move to a place where there are no enemy players.

I like the NOS guy as your defensive sweeper... get another guy with stripball who can blitz the ball carrier, then this player can move in, snag the ball and throw it away without either dodging or the -1 because of a tacklezone.
Not sure which race you are playing, but get this guy surehands if he doesn't already have it.
Your other player (+1 AG and dump off) would be my ball carrier. I would get block for him first, then sure hands... (if he doesn't already have it) AG 4 (I am guessing, unless you are playing elves) and pass already should be enough to make him a competent passer, I would work on making him a better ball carrier first.

Unfortunatley your AG+1 has dump off, what a waste! Develop both, but I agree the AG+1 needs to be your strong armer. Give the other one dump off as well and make him pick up the ball first.

I have 2 throwers on my human team:
1 offensive Thrower with +AG, Strong Arm and Accurate. I use him to make those long passes to my Catchers and my +AG Blitzer.
1 Defensive Thrower with +ST
. He is a rather new player, so no other skills. I intend to give him Block and then see what the future skill-rolls will get him next. I allready have my +AG Blitzer and a Catcher with Sure Hands to pick up the ball, so in the spirit of humans (versatility) I can use him as a rookie Thrower or make use of him as a strong Lineman/Blitzer when there is need for more ST somewhere.
I know it isnt often a Thrower has +ST, but I just wanted to show, that a defensive Thrower doesnt actually need to take Passing-skills to be effective. He can be developed like a Lineman/Blitzer (Block/Tackle) and when the ball pops loose he can use his Thrower-background to get the ball to some of the Catchers who runs like hell.
I plan on using them both on defence, of course with my +AG Thrower well protected and my strong one where I need ST the most. If the ball happens to be near him, well he picks it up and hands off to the agile 1 and boom, a TD
I dont intend to hijack the topic, but since Throwers were up for discussion I wanted to describe my thoughts on the matter.

Hm. I was always able to give advice to my fellow coaches in TTBBL concerning these matters, and now I got stuck in the eternal dilemma myself: Increase or skill.
I got this DE thrower just reaching his 3rd skill (only one on the team) and he still ain't got sure hands (he's got accurate and safe throw). I rolled up AG+1 with this league soon finished and the next season is gonna be the last before we restart the teams. My hardest opponent is a WE team, making sure hands even more important, but I'm still drawn to the expansion of my tactics that an AG 5 thrower offers.

Take the +1 AG! I have a thrower like that on my WE team (7357, safe throw, strong arm, pass) and it rocks. The ability to trow safe long passes at a 2+ means that you park him in the backfield and out of range of potential blitzes. Then pass and hand off the ball as necessary. This works really well if you also happen to have nerves of steel on the team or other ag increases. Beat those WE at their own game and don't give him a chance of blitzing your thrower.
I know people tell you you win the game on defensive, but in my opinion you only win on defense provided that you do score those touchdowns yourself.

Actually, I'm quite offended by throwers in generalduff wrote:I have one thrower with +1 Ag and dump off and one with +1 Mv and NOS. Should I develope one as a "defensive" and one as "offensive". If so which would offend more?

Take the +AG!
There are people that pray for such a skill roll.
You can use him as the best thrower ever, you can pick up the ball in TZ, you can even turn him with passblock into a fantastic intercepter, with leap and strip ball you get the perfect cage breaker.
This list could go on and on.
Just take the +AG.
