If you are using him as a backfield sweeper then Mighty Blow, Pass block or Shadowing are all equally good choices.

Guard is only really going to work if a) he's in the thick of things b) you use him as a receiver - as he can then assist blitzes to clear TZ off him.

As he has ag4, why not use him on offense. Last time I played human the blitzers are the most important players if the team can defend, and also to use for offensive scoring duty. Assume that he is already great at striping the ball and passblock is another defensive skill. Therefore most team benifit if he can use his skills and extra AG on offense.
sorry if your now asleep but this is the reason i would go for guard. He has Ag4 so he can be a reciever already (pray for catch skill latter). His tackle skill with block lends him to be a "blitzer" in terms of pushing forward up the enemy sidelines with a blitz action and assisting the catcher. Now the guard skill helps twice for this purpose. 1st in the line up on a wing the guard gives him a extra mobility as the player NEXT to him will block first, freeing the blitzer. Then blitz forward for a catcher and run seven down pitch. catcher now able to run without dodge to a forward position. the blitzer is a threat for offense with ag4, but not a primary reciever. 8) yeah guard cool for multiple uses and makes great offensive blitzer

Thanks guys for the wisdom. 8)

I can see the value of both now, I guess as a dwarf coach I have yet to see the use of these skills on the pitch. I would think pass block is the better of the two choices, but as many people have said before, pass block works best in pairs...

Double would be definitely leap.
With AG 4 he will leap into any cage on 3+ which is nearly 90% if you got a reroll.
And with his tackle and strip ball he will almost automatically get the ball.
This defense wins games.
