Here is my defence with Wood elves in Tourny. I always play that one.
If there are some Frenzy in the opponent team i put the line and Catcher one square to the middle.

Well with my halflings, when i happen to have 3 treemen on the field (two rookies and Deeproot)
I go for
Code: Select all
-----------------------------
. . . .|. T . T . T .|. . . .
. H . .|H . . . . . H|. . H .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .

. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
With Deeproot in the center... and since he has ST 7 AV10 and Standfirm my center doesn't open up.
This has been imencely succesful against agile teams...
and with the two front wings having sidesteping halflings, it's safe from frenzy.

Pass me another Elf, Captain. This one's split.

bottom x catchers.
Can play this against anyone. Like to use a deeper mod (all non scrimage 1 deeper) for slower teams and wait for action to come to me. Most good defense reacts after the play has begun, so this setup mostly for balanced swamp forward or sit back. Don't to predict just read the play when it's your turn to move.

Just played against his defense. An interesting system.
I've started using this setup with my fairly rookie undeads, against agility teams:
Code: Select all
-----------------------------
. . . .|M . w z w . M|. . . .
. z . .|g . . . . . g|. . z .
. g . .|. . . . . . .|. . g .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
. . . .|. . . . . . .|. . . .
The zombie in the middle can be placed one square back too, but if the opponents haven't got any guard players he's better on the LOS.
The risk for a quick snap is well worth it, IMHO.

This is close to mine, but with my Undead I tend to take off 2 of the backs and but them on the line making it a little wider.

With Lizards (how many skinks/saurus/krox?) Skills?
What's he got too? If he's got an AG5 1 turner it might be different.
