All star game

This is an idea I'm trying to develop for the end of season.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Its an All Star game.
Basicaly two teams made from the players with the highest SPPs.

The teams fan factor are considered the same for kick off results.

There is No gate roll, but cash is awarded to teams whos players are selected(any idea for an amount?)

Apothecary.Either All the teams send their apoths,allowing for multiple ones on each team,or players all get personal apoths.

Team re-rolls. Give each side the same amount or dont have any but give each player Pro for the game

MVPs. Just select the normal 1 or award every player one(after all it is a big game.

I think thats everything I wanted, now if only I can sort it out

Making an all-star game is a good idea... Just some questions/remarks about this:

Have you thought about the way to build teams (chaos vs law ? or divisions, like AFC/NFC ?) ?

Who will be the 2 coaches ? If I don't make a mistake, it has to be the best coaches (vote ? TR ? ...)

I don't know many details about the all-star game in the NFL, but I guess it's something that highlights the teams in which the players are usually... So why not making instead of cash:

- a MVP roll dice for each player
- popularity roll dice for every player (ie a team has 3 players in the team A. So he has after the game 3 pop. roll dice to do. After all, it's a little advertising for this team

Another solution: missing all injuries.

PLease see below... I would suggest the Blood Bowl trophy 3rd edition awards for it.

Thanks for the response DFC.

1.I thought about Good/Evil sides, but we have more Good than Evil, So I was thinking more by drawing names from a hat alternatly.(Mix em up a bit)

2.It would probably be The best coaches on win percentage who play.

3.Winnings- Roll D6 after game for each team who contributed players,the result is a permanent increase to FF.

4.Give every player an MVP after the game.

5.Players recover from death injuries after match,due to an increased medical presence.

6.I still cant decide on re-rolls though.

Awesome idea, Zy. Can't believe I didn't think of it myself. Take a little of the competitiveness out of the game and let players be proud of their stars. Perfect.

Love your site too, Longshot. I think I'm gonna institute the exact same thing in my league after the Tourney. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I dunno about giving out MVPs for the players, though. Don't you think that's gonna reward already superior players, Zy? 1 for each team and 1 Extra for the Player of the Match might be a good idea. The "all injuries count as BH" is a better idea than personal apoths too, I think. Otherwise bashier players won't be able to do what got them to the Pro Bowl in the first place.

No re-rolls and all players with Pro is a great idea, though. Man, you guys are thinkers. I love it. Gonna be hard picking who to play..player- AND coach-wise. I think I'll try the Top SPP'er from each team, then personally pick the others. Being the Commish has it's obligations. haha

In our leagues probowl we had 5 coaches (all that showed up that nite) play the game 3 on one side 2 on the other. Each coach was in charge of a team turn the the next one had the next turn and so on, it made things interesting.

We have played a game like this for a number of years. Basically we have refined it to a coach taking it in terms to be Head Coach in whatever Conference they are in and he then picks the players. The rules are there are no rules, you can pick any 16 players that play in that Conference. SPP's and casualties still count. They have been good games. DD.

I cant Help thinking that players should get something for playing in it though, Maybe I'll just paint a symbol representing it onto their base.

An idea regarding injuries could be that if someone gets injured in the game, the team who the player plays for get "blood money" of the equivelent of his starting value+20k per stat/skill increase.

IIRC this kind of a game was mentioned in "Blood Bowl Star Players" and it was called "Hyperbowl".

We will organize a 'pro-game' at the end of the tournament but with statitics that all players have done during the regular season (and not play- off).

The coachs of the two all star teams should be elicted by other coachs of their divisions.
