Wood elf team, skills and money...

Post by armarilion »

I am playing in a league, and after my third game ( I have allso had a training week..... ergo two additional mvp and 30k extra) my team looks like this...

2 wardancers (one with a mvp and one with a TD )
1 thrower (1 mvp, he has actually failed EVERY thrhow, exept on, wich the catcher couldn't cathc :pissed: :x )
1 catcher (he has 1comp, I know unbeliveble not one sigle TD)
7 line-elves (3 mvp, 1 cas and...)
1 re-roll and 6ff

The last line-elf has 8spp. He got a new skill and rolled 10 (two 5's) What skill should I take, or should I take the +1mv?

Last game I got 170k winnings (kiddnap the coach) I had 40k in my treasury so I now have a total of 210k. What should I buy after the obvious re-roll? I am thinking of another catcher. Or maybe another re-roll. Again what to choose.

I'd give the line-elf Guard. Ideally you'd like quite a few with Guard so you need to take it when you can.

Are you allowed big guys in your league? How about buying a treeman? (That way you don't have to put more than two of your precious elves on the LoS when kicking!) Also you don't mention an apothecary - if you don't have one then this is your most immediate purchase!

Purchase-

apothecary and a RR... then save up for either another catcher or line elf.

but you need the apothecary ASAP.

You also need to score more TDs... I only see one TD in your roster. Um, you should have around 5-8 after three games... even if you are 0-3... :-?

Skill-

I would go for Leader. Gets you another RR immediately, and if you get a treeman you won't regret it at all.

Oppps I have an apo. But a treeman is an extended-allied i our league, so I'll need to first hire him as a freebooter, and the buy him at an auction we have at the end of the season.
I know I'll go for the re-roll, but I am really unceartan about the other.

If you already have an apothecary, and the treeman has to be a freebooter (ick!), then grab another catcher. It's said frequently around here (because it's true!) that one of anything is a target, and two of something is a threat. Your lone catcher wouldn't scare me because I can blitz one out of existance, but if you put 2 into my backfield, I'm in trouble.

Also, you need to take those MVPs and turn them into skills - take a kickoff and pass the ball around your backfield a bit to get some completions! They only need 1 more point each, so go get 'em!

As for the lineman, I think it's mostly a toss-up between guard, NervesoSteel and the MV. If you want to be able to bash as necessary, take guard. I think even considering bashing with woodies is suicide, so I'd take Nerves of Steel. Remember that your linemen are the equivalent of everyone else's catchers (same speed, and more agi). If you do that AND grab an extra catcher, then you've got 3 guys you can send into their backfield and are true threats to catch a touchdown.
