Double 1 on Norse Blitzer

Post by shaniepoo »

My Norse blizter has just scored a double 1 for his 1st skill! Im toying between Dodge or Stand Firm?

Dodge would just be dam nice and would keep him on his feet longer making it number 1 at the moment.

Stand firm would be great once my blitzer gets his 2nd skill (Guard) as it would give me a very strong ctr line. (3 blitzers with guard an 1 in the middle with stand firm)

Any ideas on what to pick?

If one of norse blitzers would ever have rolled a double, then i would definetaly go for dauntless. If not that, then i would go for dodge probably.

I would go for sidestep. Actually i plan on getting this on at least 2 Norse Blitzers if i get doubles.

While Standfirm helps you to dodge and keeps you on the pitch after pushing someone into the crowd, sidestep helps you to set up immediately for the next crowd push (together with jump up) if you get blocked. No way to block-and-not-follow. This makes your blitzer almost unblockable within 2 squares from the sideline without the danger for the blocker to surf the crowd next drive. Also combines great with dodge on a second double and guard on a regular skill.

Sid...... damn, beat me to it. Side Step is an absolute must have for Norse blitzers. Or anyone with Frenzy They spend most of their time near the sidelines trying to push people off the pitch. If anyone tries to block them whilst they are there then

a) they can't be pushed off the sidelines themselves

and

b) they can immediately reposition to push an opposition player off in their own turn

*justlikethat*

Add a vote for stand firm over here. utterly invaluable on a frenzying player, and goes nicely with Guard later.

stand firm

A good player will leave you no place to side step to when on the sideline.

I’ve never played Norse, but to me it looks like sidestep is damn good for him. And it’s also very annoying, so it has my vote.

Stand Firm is better for Blitzers imo.

Yeah but on a norse blitzer Dauntless is very good when you also give him piling on.
That way you can take down those nasty mummies, ogres, trolls, etc.

I meant Stand Firm is better than Side Step.

Personally I'd take Dauntless.

EH? :o How is he going to get all 5 adjacent squares covered? Where is he getting the players from, and are they going to make all the dodge rolls to get there.

Besides, lets say he does get all 5 squares covered. At least 4 of those players won't be able to move again that turn. Which leaves a totally exposed pitch for you to exploit with your 10 remaining players! I'd say this was a reason to make Side Step essential!
