Well, I do get the idea of a quarterback (the upper half of a McDonalds Burger, probably?). But what the f**k is a tight end, a safety, a linebacker oh and I'm sure there are about fifteen other differently named dudes on the standard football field. Anyone can sum all those up?

Some people argue that stunties (who are not allowed to throw a long bomb) can't throw a HMP, because it has a higher effective range than a long bomb.

There are 5 offensive lineman(Chaos Dwarfs) in American Football. 2 Tackles on the outside, 2 Guards inside next to them, and the Center snaps the ball to the QB. A Tight End usually lines up on the outside shoulder of one of the Tackles...hence the name. He's an End, that is in the tight formation. A Tight End(Bull Centuar) usually is a large man that is adept at blocking and receiving passes. Every offensive player but the 5 Lineman are eligible to receive passes.

The defense, reading the formation that the offense comes out in, makes pre-snap adjustments. Usually, the linebackers determine where the Tight End is set up, or where the strength of the offensive formation appears to be, and designates that by calling out Strong Side. Of course, in professional football, teams and players are obviously of higher skill and they like to hide the strengths of their formation(quick snap). A common defense is the 4-3.

..............H..............-------H=Halfback(ballcarrier) F=Fullback(blocker)
..............F...............------Q=Quarterback(thrower)
..............Q...........R.-------R=Receivers(catchers) T=Tight End
..R...O.O.O.O.O.T.....-------O-Offensive Lineman
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
........X..X..X..X.........Four Defensive Lineman
.........X...X...X..........Three Linebackers(cover Tight Ends/Runners)
....X...................X....Two Cornerbacks(cover receivers)
........X...........X........Two Safetys(cover receivers/run support)

I've had a Tackle Wight gain AG+1, so I gave him Sure Hands next.
He has scored about 16 comps in about 10 games :)

Nothing wimpy about soccer, Peter....

Just a different game. You probably understand the intricacies of American Football about as much I understand the finer points of Soccer. I have an equal respect for both games.

Very polite, but wrong.

Soccer requires a phenomenal level of fitness, but their diving is an embarrassment to the sport. Soccer has never caught on in North America, and I think the fact the if a player gets bumped he acts as though he has been run through and impaled on a spike is a huge part of that.

While that goes on, its a wimpy sport.

ScottyBoneman wrote: I think so some extent understanding exactly what a QB is can make you use that player differently then a Thrower. In North American football, there are QBs that are throwers, and there are some that are well know for having both a running and passing game- that actually defines the offense of some clubs.
When I was using undead I got sick of no throwers, so tried to develop a Wight QB.

The results were not bad, actually. Interesting, tbh :D It just took ages to get him the right skills :D

On Fumbbl, I created a team that started of 11 Zombies and 5 Skellies. You wouldn't believe how many times I got challenged with that team ;)

Anyways, I had a skellie roll doubles for his first skill....Instant Offense. I gave him Hail Mary Pass. Now he picks up the ball, holds it until the other team gets close, and lob it down field for my Sure Hands skeletons to "try" to pick up.

I actually won a game too...against a Necro team. Of course, I SI'd both of his werewolves and a ghoul, and BH the other ghoul. All he had left were zombies, and that meant I had a movement advantage on him :)

I also have a 4AG, Accurate, Sure Hands Hobgoblin on my CD team.
