Just thought I'd add a couple of pence worth.

Great idea.

Suggest though that you make both right and left handed versions of the sprues - I have 2 converted beastmen with their thumbs in the wrong position - yeah, I just blame Chaos

You could also do some heads (without helmets), although if you want all different models, this may have limited appeal - although it does offer the chance of mixing lots of heads around!

just to put the last nail in teh whole "anyone can do fantasy football" topic... keep in mind that phil did freelance work for GW before, during, and after various phigs football releases... they don't really seem to care, though he's never had an order from anyone in nottingham either...

that said, there are definitely limits to what someone like phigs, shadowforge, or heresey can do in the genre... 'fantasy football' or 'fantasy athletes' in general are not gw's IP, rather, the specific appearance of the figures are... hence, if i wanted to do a high elf team or a high elf conversion sprue, i can do anything i want _except_ make figures which share the specific visual elements that constitute the gw high elf line... (i.e. the bullet helmets, chainmail dresses, lion pelts, massively oversized hands hands, etc)... but what is a high elf to them, to me, and to you can be three different things, and thus, three different potential IP's...

on to other things... the sprue helmets wouldn't be "over the head" things.... good grief, how hard would that be to a) cast, and b) actually use! sprue helmets will be like the rest of the sprue parts, maybe not perfect, but as much "universal" as they can be... which means you're gonna have to chop off the existing head of your mini and glue this one on, in its entirety... they will likely look a lot like modern football helmets, with rather thorough cage facemasks that will sufficiently obscure the faces of the players that they could be used convincingly as any variety of creature you needed them to... there might not even be visible eyes... what good is a conversion sprue with a human face when you're trying to make a team of skeletons?

*sigh* now i just gotta get some free time... i'm just making trouble for myself now

I could be wrong ... but my gut tells me these will sell as well as the Valkyries, and my gut is usually not wrong when it comes to money.

Here's another item for the coach sprue: clipboard! Now how did i get that idea ... ?

Not sure if that would be possible to sculpt/handle, but another to do the helmets would be to do a helmet sprue with a standard sized flat surface where the face usually is and a face sprue with face masks and/or race specific faces to glue into the flat surface of the to helmet.

Somehow like what is described in BBMag #10 for the converted team on the last page.

Great idea

but an very old one as well if you read the first page

a sideline accessory sprue with:
4 pom-poms
1 coach's ballcap
1 clipboard
1 loose football
1 medic's bag
1 giant foam finger

that'd involve sculpting faces then though, and would probably limit phil to doing generic human ones - GW can object if it infringes their likeness rights can't they?

i.e. no skaven, or orcs that look like GWs

I admit I am not 100% sure on that one though...

so will the black widows, but that fact cannot overturn the reality that i spent only about three hours of non-sleeping time at home this weekend

i'm 92.7% convinced to at least try this, i just need to decide on pricing and you all just need to be a little patient with me... like i said earlier, phigs is very much limited by its being a hobby, and time is not something i have in sufficient portion right now...

oh, and just for the record, if i do ever make fem-orcs, they ain't gonna be saggy... i gotta like what i make, eh...
