chaos dwarfs

Post by dabananaman »

hey guys,
i just won 500grams of bitz from an event on halloween and in part with other things am getting a CD bloodbowl team.

i didnt find anything in the archives so i will ask here:
what do you find the best starting roster? what def/off set-ups do you like?
is it better to kick first and smack ppl up a bit and go for the 2-1? or what?

i am thinking about starting with:
2 bull centars
4 dwarfs
5 hobos
3 RR
9 FF
20k

im playing agenced a good mix of teams... with 2 skaven, zons, DE, chaos(one normal one rotters), orks...

thanks alot!

Now, my Chaos Dwarf experience is limited, but I have played them, and for the most part liked them. That was the starting roster that I used and I liked it a lot.

I did the smack people around for a bit, and score when I could. I am not a big staller, but I don't hurry either. So I detest the 2-1 victory, but the definate stategy is to take it slow, use the dwarves to bottle up the middle, the gobbos for ball handling and assists, and the BC's to blitz, harass the ball carrier, and act as a backfield safety.

I would change one Hobgobbo into a CDB for the 20K and 1ff.
Try to score with you bull centaurs as often as possible (4+ with reroll is not too bad).
Give two of your hobgobbos sure hands, then block.
Blitz a hole with your BC, use your dwarfs to hold the opposing players while you make a cage with the HGs.
When the team gets SPP it gets really nasty (Guard on every CDB, ballhandling with HGs and BC, blitzing with simply the best blitzers in the game, the BCs)

The sticky at the top of this (Tactics & Team Development) forum gives three other possible starting line-ups you may want to consider:
Chaos Dwarf 1
6 Chaos Dwarf Blockers
6 Hobgoblins
4 Re-Rolls
9 Fan Factor
1 Apothecary

Chaos Dwarf 2
2 Bull Centaurs
5 Dwarves
4 Hobgoblins
3 Re-Rolls
8 Fan Factor

Chaos Dwarf 3
1 Troll
4 Chaos Dwarf
7 Hobgoblins
5 Re-Rolls
8 Fan Factor
However, your line-up looks pretty good to me - I'd take that or #2 above. Also, Asperon Thorn's advice seems pretty good to me. Bull Centuars can be pretty spectacular players with a couple of good skills, so starting with two isn't a bad idea.

Hey dabananaman,

Congrats on the Chaos Dwarf team, they are a lot of fun to play! :) I am currently running a Chaos Dwarf team as well, so I will attempt to give you some info, and hopefully you will findat least some of it useful. :D

The roster that I started my chaos dwarfs with is as follows:
2 Bull centaurs
5 Chaos dwarf blockers
4 hobgoblins
3 RR
8 FF

I personally found that having the extra CD was worth the loss in FF.

As for sets ups..my best advice for an offensive set up is to see what your opponent sets up defensively and then decide how to break it..

Defensively I am fond of a 3-4-4 formation against faster teams, and I will generally kick to them. Against slower hard hitting teams I have been using a 3-6-2, and will receive the kick as often as possible..

Hope that helps you out man, if you have any other questions feel free to throw them out, and make sure to let us know how your team is doing :D

cant remember what I droped but got 4reroll and helps team a lot. had 5dwarf and only 1BC but any above rosters pretty good. Stick to hobos for non fighting duty and always leave a BC free to blitz and life will be good.
Found Chaos Dwarf fun team to play, and normally hate fighting st3 teams because they are dull. Get the old second edition Cdwarfs to play because they are more sexy
