think about replacing players with injuries (for example your blitzer with NI).
Hm, at last at this blitzer, no. I ´m happy, i got blitzer with more skill anyway  But you are right with my Gobbo -1AV or maybe the BO with niggling and no skill.

Another skill i was thinking about is " Kick". But thats a skill for a Lineorc not standing at LOS or sideline...
Anyone out there, who tell me "Pass block" is good to take ?
Don't RR cost double if you buy them later on in your league
Hm, i cant find this part at the LRB. Maybe someone can tell me, if Redfang is right ? I remember something like this, too.

Thanks Andy; saves me the time searching...

If the NI BO doesn't have any SPP replace hi fast (before he gets a MVP and becomes too valuable)!

Yep, RR's cost double, but only add their basic cost to your TR.

So for Orcs they cost 120k, add 6 TR for the re-roll, and minus 12TR for the money, for a net TR drop of 6.

... and so i did !

Ok, game #12 is over and ... tatataaa, i win against the norse team. :D

Yesterday my opponent coach arrived, smiled and announced: "I borrowed 20k from another coach , got enought money this way and bought me a mino... hahaha." :o
But i just can tell you, the big smile was on MY side after this game...
the "wild animal" worked great for me  Most of the time i put someone with "block" in front of this mini. And this monster with " frenzy" works good, too. If he didnt throw a skull or a block the first move, than the second move :) And one of my first moves was to kick his Lineman with leader into the fans , so no reroll for the mino  Quite a few of his turns ended after his first try to move his mino. Two times i snatched " his" ball, before he could react. :)
My ogre...oh, he is such a bonehead. Of the 16 turns he just stand at last 9 turns and i lost at last 3 blitzes this way. :( But still he is a better Big Guy than this mino :D

First half we both throw the dices quite bad... the ball was won and lost quite a few times and just turn 8, first half, my blitzer +1MA did it again: 1:0
Turn 4 second half another TD for my Blitzer+1MA. This one more square counts fairly...
Turn 7 second half and i was close.. 5 squares to be exact ... to score a 3:0 and my blitzer didnt catch the ball :( And this time, on my opponents turn 8, every dice worked well for him: pickup, dodge, go for it, go for it, handover, dodge, got for it, pass, catch, dodge... TD :o 2:1
Turn 8 second half i managed another casuality at last.

Well, a good game for me. No casualities for the next game. Three players will get a new skill. After the job i will check, which skills/ traits, how many money and FF, i will get. Then i will ask again for the wisdom of the experienced coaches here

Ok, about the three players getting new skills now...

a Blackork, no skills until now.
I got 4 BOs and just one with "Block". So best another one with Block ? Or one with " Guard " to help to get another Str5 player next to my Ogre ? But i would prefer another BO with Block.
This BO got a niggling already and... argh, aged this time, so 2 nigglings. :(
a thrower with pass, surehands, strong arm.
Hm, just a normal skill from General or passing skills. Dump off ? ...seems not bad. Strip Ball ?... hm, hardly tried to attack with this guy (AV8). Kick ? ...better for a Lineork ? Tackle ? ...hm, i just got one LineOrk with tackle. And i have to play against a skaven team soon... Block... maybe the best, would help to keep the ball.
a blitzer with block, +1 MA best player with 5 TDs now :D .
I got another blitzer with Guard,+1AG and another blitzer with Strip ball, mighty blow.
Hm, "Sure Hand" would be nice IMO. Safe picking up the ball and keep running  Or better"Pro" to get more chances at all ? "Tackle" ? I would prefer a more offensive blitzer.

I have to decide until tonight for the game against a ogre team...

Hello Traveller. Newbie (as a player then) advice.

BO-surely take he Block skill. It makes him more powerfull!
Thrower - considered accurate? Gets you a great thrower over longer distances!
Blitzer-I love tackle to blitz those dogdgy guys. But if you use him mainly as a scorer, Sure hands is a good option.

Have fun tonight! :smoking:

Retire a 2 niggle, 1 normal skill BOB. If you really can't afford it then wait until you can buy a replacement. For the skill Block 1st. If you give him Guard he wont be getting many casualties from blocking. Guard is a very good 2nd skill.

Accurate? That makes short passes a 2+ giving you a viable passing game. The alternative to running (esp with a gobbo or two) will cause your opponent all sorts of headaches.

Tackle. You need to be able to bring down blodgers.

well, after my trip to cuba i played my last game before the playoffs.

Against a skaventeam with some quite good gutterrunners i got a full 16 members strong orcteam. No of my 7 (!) niggling wounds turned up

Turn 4 one of my blitzers managed his TD ! Hehooo, 1:0 for the greenlings :D

1. Half Turn 7, after my team stole the ball from the rats again ... the rats coach got really bad dices, normaly his rats were two times in the position to score a TD, but always the last needed dice turned bad... my gobbo was in the position to score a 2:0 :D My ogre , normaly alway stupid, had thrown the gobbo in a perfect position and now he was ready to run. Just one dodge ....
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/ ... ame14a.jpg

... and there it happens again :o A bribed "Illegal procedure call" ( a houserule... worth 25k) and no reroll left to cancel it. Turnover ! So some rats come together and... i dont want to speak of it again ! :(
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/ ... ame14b.jpg

well , second half...

my ogre was hit quite bad and went KO. My BOs went kissing the ground... and the whole rat pack went right through the middle. :o
http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/ ... ame14c.jpg

Luck for my team ... after all those preparations and breakthrough, the rat thrower didnt manage to pickup the ball. So my team counterattack... i love Blitzers with +1MA . But still after some fighting the rats scored turn 6 second half. 1:1

After my Ogre come back i was ready for some desperate plan. My Thrower got the ball, a quicksnap ... heho, i love a overkill thrower with strong arm and accurate, too  ... to my blitzer... yes, +1 AG helps here, too  ... and a nice handover to my gobbo. Well, maybe by accident  , the little one was standing directly behind my ogre :D ... well protected by some BOs, too... and so... at Turn 8 he went flying, landed good, run two go for its and score me my 2:1 ! :D

The bad thing for the rat coach was, i was telling him the whole time, what i will do the next moment ... and everything was going just perfect. What a dice luck i had !! :o

But this game was my last game in this league. I missed the playoffs only for one place and 2 missing TDs. Still i´m happy with the result as i learned a lot as a beginner, i´m not the last one and i got a lot of fun !
Next year we will start again... my orcs and i. :D

This post was watched more than 3000 times, i got a great response. So i want to say thanks to all for the advices and the help i got here.
I hope, i entertainted you a bit, too, with my mistakes and reports

BTW... in 15 games my team scored 15 TDs, 20 CPs and 15 CSs. 17 TDs against my team. At the end my team got 170 SPs, 5 RR, 8 FF, 20k cash and a TR of 190. I still have to check how many games i won or loose. I played in my division against Skaven, Undeads, Norse, Chaos, Ogres and Orcs. Maybe i will put a page online for my team

Hey Trav,

welcome back from Cuba. Hope you had a good time.

Those magic plays at the end of a game really make your day, don't they. Well we have to be lucky sometimes ...

Are you goint to continue playing the same team into next season? Sounds like a great bunch.

Well, merry x-mas and a happy new year to you and the rest of the folks here. Trav, if you'd like, we could meet with Tim and a fourth player somewhere in the Mainz, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Sinsheim area for a game or two in January.
