Should I retire my Mummy?
Bad luck continues, after won match vs. Skaven (2-0 with 2-0 CAS) I roll 1 for FF, 1 for money. And then, at last, my Mummy gets his second skill and his aging roll is 1+2. Argh!
So now my roster looks like this:
Mummy: 4 SPP
Mummy: Niggling Injury, Block, Piling On, 17 SPP
Wight: 4 SPP
Wight: Tackle, 10 SPP
Wight: Guard, 9 SPP
Wight: 4 SPP
Ghoul: +MA, 7 SPP
Ghoul: + AG, Block, 16 SPP
Ghoul: Block, 8 SPP
Zombie: 0 SPP
Zombie: Kick, 7 SPP
Zombie: 5 SPP
Zombie: 2 SPP
Skeleton: Block, 14 SPP
Skeleton: 0 SPP
3 RR, 8 FF, 110k in Treasury
I was saving for fourth RR, but now my Mummy got Niggling... Should I retire him and buy another one? With Block and Piling On he could get lots of casualties and SPP's, but on the other hand he could be missing lots of games with my bad luck. And hoarding SPP's for player with niggling isn't very wise IMO.
Can Undead manage with only one Mummy? Almost every team in our league has a Big Guy, and we have lots of hard hitting teams.
Next game will be finals vs. Lizard team with Kroxigor (Block and Leader), 6 Saurus (two with Guard, and one with +ST and Block) and 6 Skinks (one with Diving Catch, one with HMP, one with Sure Feet and Side Step, and one with +MA).
I'll keep him at least for the finals and hope to have him on the field, but after that... I don't know.
Thanks for your help!

...thats a tough one... he is a killer at the moment, so I would probably keep him... think about it... he´ll miss 1/6 matches on average... thats not too bad... when he is out... take the opportunity to develop your other players... Develop different styles of play... Flank Flood, Cage, Throw, Fake´s, etc...
Undead doesn´t have to bash to win... Its a very versatile team...

Well.. usually I would say: Drop the git and buy a new one.
But considering the next game to be the finals, I would keep the mummy for the game and then drop it, especially as Piling On will be changed.

Keeping him is a good idea. At least till the finals.
On the other hand, it would really be sad to see him miss because of that niggler. But i would go for it anyway, since he could be the difference between winning and loosing if he shows up.

But not having a 2nd Mummy with Block and one less reroll just doesn't seem worth the 1in6 chancemazzic wrote:Keeping him is a good idea. At least till the finals.

Yep, I kept him for the finals and it seemed to pay off. He managed to KO, Kroxigor with Leader and one Saurus with +ST and Stand Firm. Both stayed in the KO-box for three drives. Sadly my Mummy then suffered the same fate when he was fouled. He missed most of the second half and over time.
Oh yeah, I won 2-1. Killed two Skinks, another one was his star player. My opponent didn't appreciate that ;)
Probably will drop him now, even though I'm still tempted to keep the Mummy until the other one gets a skill, as Sean suggested.

Team rating is now 169. I didn't get any new skills. FF is 9 again and I have 180k in treasury, so I have plenty of money to replace him.
And yes, only one niggling. I want to be sure that I can field two Mummies so thats why I'm planning to dump him. But the other Mummy is stuck with 4 SPP's so no block skill. Maybe I wait for another game and try to get one block for the other Mummy...

players are going to pick up niggling eventually if you fire players after just one. than there's no end to the times you are going to have to change your players (especially with ageing).
The only thing not to overlook is the fact that after certain team ratings your cashflow is going to cease and your left with sub optimal players which you can't replace.
So this being said you're teamrating is not that high yet. Just keep him and if he ages badly, drop him.
