Yet another Gutter Runner....

Post by Nagash »

Yep - need some advice on this one...

One of my GR´s has just advanced for his third skill...
He is currently: 9 2 4 7 - Block, Dodge, Side Step.

Instead of giving him one of the more "conservative" skillls - like catch, sure feet , etc - I feel like risking his little furry neck by giving him a skill that´ll possibly turn-over my opponent.... either shadowing or diving tackle...

What ya think? ... With shadowing he is gonna be a nuisance... Diving Tackle he´ll probably get fouled to hell if I don´t turn him over, but there´s a chance the GR´s presence will make my opponent perform actions - ie roll dice - not part of his game plan...

Either is good. Shadowing would make him more of a nuisance as even if shadowing fails, he's still got block/dodge/sidestep to protect him and your opponent may waste more blocks on him.

I like both options, but wouldn't you do that after you have tackle?

Anyway, did you consider stripball?

just roll 2 dice against on his ballhandler in the backfield, and very often you'll see he drops the ball and if you have enough movement you can score..

not bad idea to add leap.
=block dodge ag4 sidestep leap

Gives huge options on offense and defense for more 'risky' plays. Now not legit (trait) but most risky skill could be pro. With pro a ag4 player can try just about anything in desperation, but not for most BB coach styles.

Shadow or passblock ok ideas but never that effective from what I have seen. Stripball pretty good with assist can dodge in one dice with your block skill pretty good chance for a ball pop, and not huge risk for you.

I like DT better, and maybe pass block after that.
