I have to say ... for all those of you who want GW to make online BB software ... the fact that Ski and I will have the JavaBowl program and the PBeM program up to date with new releases of the software with all the Rules Review changes within a week or so of the rules announcements and we do it for free ... that's something you could never get from a GW done version of this game.

Thanks for the fast work Ski.

6.9a out.

Apparently turning on the PILING ON ALWAYS FALLS option in 6.9 with the new RR PILING ON option was causing all players to fall after blocking. :D

So it doesn't really affect you unless you use the ALWAYS FALLS option.

Unrelated note: THX Galak!

Ski/Grumble/Christer

I just had an email from a member of the BBRC asking if you guys could please please please for the love of all that is holy and good in the universe PLEASE have ANY ANY ANY handicap system at all for FUMBBL.

Let's use one of Dark Lord's old suggestions.

If the lower TR team is less than 100, use bands of 15 points of TR (round band partials down)
If the lower TR team is greather then 100, use bands of 15% of TR (round band partials down)

For each band, your team gets 1 extra reroll for the match. If this would take your team to more than 8 rerolls, your opponent loses rerolls equal to the excess.

Example a TR 130 Halfling team with 6 rerolls is playing a TR 200 Chaos Team with 3 rerolls.

The Chaos team is (200-130)/(130*.15) = 3.59 rounded down to 3 bands higher. Thus the Halfling team will play with 8 rerolls for this match and the Chaos team with 2 (since the Halfling team only needs 2 to reach 8).

Could FUMBBL PLEASE add a simple rule like this so that the BBRC sees the FUMBBL data as valid.

It doesn't have to be this exactly ... but this is something I know I could program into the PBeM program in about 30 minutes, so I assume it would be very simple for Ski to put into JavaBowl as well. Please guys ... I'm tried of presenting FUMBBL data to the BBRC and getting back ... well that would mean more if they had ANY type of handicapping system.

15% is a number I think works well but you could adjust it. ... please please please please consider doing this ... it would be SOOOO simple and mean so much to the folks using Christer's incredible database as a tool for the game.

Sounds fine to me. Something simple that can just be there until I get around to the handicap table. Needs Christer to say he will use it first.

I am sure we would prolly allow something like that to be used as a stop gap, christer is away at the moment but i will bring it up next time i see him

i'll go run a poll and see what the coaches think as well

Java Bbowl 7.0 is out. Get it at any of the links below.

Adds support for the Rules Review (RR) changes for the Rune Smith. On by default. See section "51. Wizards" in the readme.txt file to see how they work.

Added on pitch team logos with the "Draw Team Logos". Each race can have a default team icon specified. Included with the download are default team logos and ini entries for most of the teams. You can also specify a team specific logo in your html roster that will override the race default. This will be downloaded just like player pics to your opponent. See the readme.txt file section 53. "Draw Team Logos" for details.

Added some new wood elf, chaos warrior, and ghoul icons.

This is not a patch. It is a full install. So don't copy it over your 6.x install. Create a new install.
