Turning face up

Post by slup »

Do you have to use a move action to turn a player face up?
All it says in the rulebook about stunned players is:

All they may do for their next action is turn face up.
LRB page 12
It does not specify what action the player needs to take.
So i would declare a blockaction with my stunned wild animal and turn him face up without rolling a die.
You may not stand up during a blockaction (LRB page 12), but is rolling over to the other side considered moving somewhere?

This is worth considering with the new wild animal rule

There is no action declared I think they can roll over. Even wild animal will roll over without rolling.

I believe the rules guru's will contradict Kheldar concerning wa's.

Must Really Stupid and Bonehead players also roll before they roll over or stand up?

Yes, they also have to roll.
Only vampires don't have to roll for thirst when rolling over.

Yes Galak got confirmation that if you declare a moveaction in order to turn face up you have to roll 4+:

But that does not answer my question.

"If you declare any action other than Block with a Wild Animal, roll a D6. On a roll of 1-3, the Wild Animal stands still and roars in rage instead, and the action is wasted"

So if my rat ogre is stunned and I want to turn over and throw a 1-3, my rat ogre "stands" still, so does that mean he stands up.

Hummm, I don't think so...
The word "stands" in this sentence doesn't refer to the Standing action IMO.
You can suppose that your Wild Animal rolls over, stays on the ground, and cries like a baby moving his legs and arms everywhere !

Just a suggestion:
Rolling over is not really an action. When we play at home, stunned players on the moving team are automatically rolled over AFTER their team has suffered a turnover. We rule that you cannot "forget" to roll them over, and you don`t have to roll for it, it`s just a playing mechanism - Stunned players do NOTHING for a turn, not even roll over.

We do the same at home..excepting of course if the player gets stunned in the process of causing the turnover. He stays stunned. We still roll for the negatraits though, and we didn't unstun anybody if a WA caused the TO.
