New ogres allies rule

Post by cani »

After the 2003 rules review Ogres are only allowed on human, chaos, and norse teams.

Does anyone know what caused this change?

I would say that orks are naturally allied with ogres and dwarves are as likely to use an ogre as human teams. Goblin and Halfling teams I can understand to some degree.

I've heard that in the Warhammer world orcs are NOT allied with ogres.
ogres are rather some mutated humans.

also the orcs didn't really need the ogre to win TBH

Game balance rather than fluff. A lot of coaches suggested that Ogres are too good and ought to be less common.

Yep its because of game balance and have nothing to do with fluff.
Fluff was the reason because they was available to so many races but they changed it because of the reason Ianwilliams said.
