Orc for a legue!

Post by brianweb »

I will begin a legue of bb soon where the first phase of five will have left.

2 black orc
3 blitzer
1 goblin
1 Thrower
3 lineman
Varag Ghoul-Chewer 6 4 3 9 Pro, Mighty Blow, Block, Leader, Jump Up, Star
2 rr
6 ff

I can give three various abilities to various players

block for a Black Orc

for the others two I have some doubt...

guard for a blitzer?
cacth for the goblin?
kick for a liniman?

please, you say what you think ...thanks

Are you sure you are allowed Star Players?

My normal Orc league startup would be

2 Throwers
3 BOBs
2 Blitzers
4 Line Orcs
8 FF
3 TRR

Starting with a goblin isn't a bad idea - but I'd want two and/or to have 12 players as they squish easily.

If you've got Varag its worth starting with the Troll too (no more Ogres :()

Free skills? I'd give all the BOBs block. With that they'll start getting SPPs at a reasonable rate. Without it they can take forever to develop.

Definitely go for catch on the goblin. This gives you a much needed personal reroll.

The third skill would be either block to an extra black orc (to make sure you have a stable LOS and some decent blockers) or tackle to a blitzer (to use against those pesky dodging pansies.
It really depends on the other teams in the league; many elf, skaven and human teams the choose tackle. Many strength team then choose block for a black orc.

If I were you, I'd chance your roster a bit.
- Drop one Blitzer and take another BOB.
- Goblin is a good idea, but IMO you really should have one more player.
- Maybe drop the goblin for now and take another lineman instead?

I'd take
- block for a BOB
- kick for a lineman
- tackle for a Blitzer (I assume you have some agile dodgers in your league)
