Nurgles Rotters Team Design

Post by wonko_the_sane »

Hi Folks

Wasn't sure where to post this so I figured being a 'newbie' it'd be safest to post here. :-) I'm in the process of building a Nurgles Rotters team and here's what i'm planning on using.

2 Rotters
8 Beastmen
1 Beast of Nurgle
9 FF
1 RR

Do people think this is a viable team or am I on the crack pipe? :-) I know that conventional wisdom says I should have more RR. I'm kind of hoping 9FF will help out be getting me the event based RRs.

Sorry but for a medium to long term league the best lineup is (IMO)

The beast
10 beastmen

max FF and rerolls

Sure it will be nice to have rotters but you will need those rerolls. Also if you are lucky you may get a free rotter - don't bank on this though!

Do you really want to take the Beast in the beginning? Wait, until you either get leader for one of your players or at least some skills for some. In the beginning, there is going to be a lot of turn overs as your players don't have any skills yet.

I'd recommend...

2 Rotters
9 Beastmen
2 RR
9 FF

10K left for apo

 Think about it.

I reckon starting with the beast isn't such a bad idea. You might get a free rotter early on - when it really makes a difference.

You can post this kind of questions in the TEAM & TACTICS DEVELOPMENT (third item from the bottom). But as you see people find it here as well!

Thanks for that.

I'm kind of hoping that I get lucky with the Beast early on and get a free rotter or two. I did have a go in an earlier League with this team but I found that the absence of an apoth meant that I lost a lot of beastmen (and one rotter that failed to regenerate) to bum dice rolls. I also got mangled in my first game out by a Norse team (curse them and their block skill) and to make matters worse my opponent kept doing 2 dice I choose blocks and knocking my beast of Nurgle on it's arse (the jammy bastard) :-)

Hopefully better luck this time :-)

The boyz had their first game versus a Lizardman team.

We won 3-2 in extra time. Inflicted 6 casaulties and suffered only one BUT it was a kill and one of the beastmen died. I killed a Saurus too but sadly not with the Beast of Nurgle.

The Lizardmen scored twice in the first half while we scored once. Then the first half ended in a riot. At the start of the second half I had a dream run where I reduced the Lizards to 7 team members standing and was able to tie scores near the end of the second half. The Lizards didn't manage a one turn touch down and so we had a third half and I got to recieve. Built a cage and stomped down the feild for the score. At games end he had 2 Saurus (from 6) and 3 Skinks (from 6) left on the feild.

All in all a good result except for the dead Beastman. And having a +3 for my fan factor roll what did I roll? Why a one of course. What else? I'd be more annoyed except that I'm used to it. Last 3 fan factor rolls I've rolled have been 1s (and never less then a +2 on the dice). Curses :o

nurgles are very fun to play
My team started with
1 beast of nurgle
1 rotter
9 beastman
9 ff
2 rerolls

We had a short season but I ended up in 4th place enough to put me in the playoffs
If your luck is anything like mine dont bet on the beast of nurgle to get you and free rotters.
I had 3kills with him all were against undead teams that regen'd so no rotters for me.
But with the changes to the beast of nurgle he still is a great big guy
